Eh, It's Life

[Kirameki]

Victor sighed, scratching his chest that was bared to the world as he walked. He was bored and alone and his Pokemon were at the Pokemon Cneter after a failure of a battle against a crazy Magmar up at the volcano. Now all he had left to do was wait for a couple of hours. Alone. Without company. That was why Victor made his way to the City Lake. That and he hoped for love. Not just 'woo, we're dating' but sappy romance. He hoped for that at the lake but it wasn't a priority. Company was. Victor sighed again.

Jezzebelle was at the lake, Hatter (an invisible Shinigami) behind her, eating an apple. Jezzebelle was writing something into a notebook.

[Kiki]

A black haired girl with a sunhat sat on the shore of the lake, looking into the water.

[Kirameki]

Victor blinked. It was odd for there to be two girls around him. He didn't know what to do. He himself wasn't used to extremely awkward silences. He sighed and dropped himself onto his back, closing his eyes. "It's so warm out today, wouldn't you agree?" He spoke to both girls because he didn't know which one to focus on.

[Kiki]

Xiana looked over her shoulder. "It is."

[Kirameki]

A small smile played at Victor's lips. She had a pretty voice. "Yeah... Oh!" He sat up quickly with his small smile still in place. "I-I'm Victor! Victor Shayael."

[Kiki]

"I am Tsukino Xiana."

[Kirameki]

"Xiana?" he asked slowly. "That's a pretty name. What's it mean?" Sadly, he thought to himself, his name wasn't anything special.

[Kiki]

She thought for a moment. "Shining darkness in my most native form of Yeneo."

[Kirameki]

Victor chuckled nervously. "Yeneo? What's that? I've not heard of it."

[Kiki]

"My race and my language. I am from another dimension."

[Kirameki]

Victor pulled one knee to his chest, resting his chin atop his knee. He smiled at Xiana. "Really!" he exclaimed pleasantly. "That's amazing. What's it called? What are your people like?"

[Kiki]

"The planet is Yeno. There have been major changes, but the culture has remained the same at its core. We are a warrior people."

[Kirameki]

"Warrior people?" he queried. "Is that, like, you all prepare to fight in wars? You're just raised to fight?" He didn't like fighting. Victor was a pacifist. Well, he was unless his Pokemon were in danger. That was why he didn't have his Pokemon with him.

[Kiki]

"While we are warrior people, we do not attack unless provoked for the most part. I personally am a Dark Healer. The reason we are trained to fight is because we have Darkness magic, the most volitile and dangerous. The discipline of the sword and martial arts helps us to keep it under control."

[Kirameki]

Victor nodded. It made sense, in a way. Kind of. Victor wasn't slow but he wasn't exceptionally smart either. He was average. So for him to even kind of understand what Xiana was explaining was good. He smiled a small smile. "A Dark Healer, huh? So you heal... Dark creatures? Or with dark magic?"

[Kiki]

"I heal with Darkness magic."

[Kirameki]

Victor gave a hearty chuckle. "If I'd known I was to meet you, I might've thought to bring along my Pokemon that need healing."

[Kiki]

She nodded and took off her hat, twirling it around. "Hm. I need to make another..."

[Kirameki]

Curiously (albeit confusedly), Victor leaned forward. "Another what? Another hat?"

[Kiki]

"One could say that. But this is my main mode of defense." She tossed it at a tree branch and it sliced clean through. She tapped the brim. "It is getting dull."

[Kirameki]

"That's cool!" Victor exclaimed. "Can... Can I touch it?" He felt like a child but he'd never seen something like that before.

[Kiki]

She stood up and sat next to him, showing it to him. It looked like a fairly normal sunhat, but when she rotated it just right, a thin layer of a clear material could be seen on the brim.

[Kirameki]

Unconsciously, Victor leaned closer to her, running his index finger carefully across the rim of the hat. He took care to not cut himself. "Do you fight often? Is that why you need this?" he liked the idea of it. In fact, Victor barely restrained himself from taking off his tiny hat and asking Xiana to make his fancy and tactful.

[Kiki]

"It is just in case I need it. There are those after me that want my secrets."

[Kirameki]

"Oh." He shifted slightly. "Well that can't be good. I'd offer to be y our protector but I'm just a pansy pacifist. Or so I've been told. I have absolutely no doubts that anyone under my protection will get hurt due to my short comings."

[Kiki]

"I can protect myself. I work for the Council, making fans for priestesses. It is a highly guarded secret. Less than a hundred know how to do it."

[Kirameki]

"Making fans?" Victor asked. "Like..." he mimicked fanning himself with a Japanese style fold-out fan. "Like a geisha fan?"

[Kiki]

"Somewhat. But they are imbued with divine power."

[Kirameki]

"Divine power, huh?" he paused and looked at her. "Could you teach me how to make some fans?"
