Luke walked into the house and sat on the couch, kicking up a load of dust. He swirled his hand around and the dust disappeared

A Dusclops appeared about two inches in front of Haku, looking down menacingly.

Haku froze, he had been afraid of Dusclops ever since he was a child.

"Darmo! Hold it!" Luke said. He put Marci down and walked over. "He's not a threat! He's just a researcher! He helped Venus deliver her pups." The Dusclops huffed and walked to the couch, then sat down. "Haku, it's all right. Darmo won't hurt you. He just gets a bit riled up whenever he senses a human near Marci."

Haku nodded. Venus nuzzled her babies as they nursed. Shadow appear in front of her, carrying a fish in his mouth. He placed it in front of Venus and she began to eat. He disappeared again to get more food for her.

Marci smiled. "He acts like a tough guy, but he's just a big softie," she said, hugging Darmo. Her voice was back to a child-like one again.

Shadow came back and saw Venus' tears. He gently nuzzled her, licking her tears. "I miss him too." He muttered. "We all do."

Venus looked at the four nursing pups. "Cronos died soon after I discovered that I was carrying these little ones. I was about to tell him when we were attacked...."
