"There are few people who would deliberately try to insult you. Even fewer are those who seek to wound you. Through living among the humans, uyou learn to recognize the signs of both. Unfortunatly, just telling you of them is not enough. You must experience betrayal in order to properly identify it."

"I have experienced betrayal badly." She looked at the sky, sighing.

"Then you will know well the soggs, and avoid such people here."

"The.....soggs?" She blinked, clearly confused.

(... Stupid iPod and autocorrecting... *Stomps* I meant signs.)
"Did I say seggs?" Ab'Soli commented, "I must be getting tired. His phrase was accented by a yawn. "I meant to say signs. But we should begin heading inside, the clouds have begun to form."

[Ah.]
Ande nodded and sighed. "Yes, we should."

Ab'Soli led the way in, looking over his shoulder to check if she was following.

Ande glanced over her shoulder, but followed.

Ab'Soli kept walking, making it inside just before the first raindrop hit the ground.

Ande followed. "At least it is the spring now although it will be weeks until it is very apparent here."

"Yes, the mountains are slower to turn with the seasons. Part of what makes it so peaceful up here."

Ande nodded. "That is true. I prefer to keep to the mountains because of the solitude. I rarely ever wish to associate with the earthbound. They are never able to understand what I go through."

"Yes, very few understand the lives of those who are not normal. To them, we are just oddities."

Ande nodded.

"Allow me to look at that wing of yours, just to be absolutely certain that it's healing properly."

Ande nodded and sat down, her wing in front of him.

Ab'Soli lightly touched and moved the wing around, before shaking his head. "Well, now that it's mostly healed I can tell that something's wrong with the joint. It won't fold all the way- it'll work to fly, so you can return home for more advanced treatment than what I can do. You just won't be able to fold your wing up all the way. It'll stick out a little when you try. With more advanced treatment, though, I estimate recovery at one hundred percent, even if you wait for your bone to reach full density - which is what I would reccommend you do."

"I do not fold them but if I am landed for only a short time. You have not noticed the other one complete vanished?"

"I did notice it had disappeared.. I assumed you had folded it up, out of sight, already." Ab'Soli commented

Ande shook her head. "No. It is something I learned from a Zapdos morph that lives around here. It is a spell from her own culture, but it is similar to the magic I use."

Ab'Soli nodded, "Although I hope for your sake the spell does not apply any force to your wing."

Ande shook her head. "No. It does not. It more or less makes it like it was never there. It is just like the Fairies are able to hide their wings. My people can naturally do this, but because of my bastard and hybrid origins, I was never taught."

"If the world would return to the days when such words had meaning." Ab'Soli said, "Now you hear them everywhere, and commonly, too."
|
|
|
Post by Kiki on Oct 16, 2009 10:44:36 GMT -5
"In my culture, they still hold their original meanings. I've heard them used far too commonly in this culture. They are not common insults to me; they hold the highest of dishonors."

"This culture would not be so messed up if there were not those who continuously claim disipline is improper. There was once a day where a child would recieve harsh punishment for talking back to their elders, and people actually took the blame and lived with their mistakes. Nowadays people blame anyone but themselves."

Ande nodded. "That is much the way my culture is."

"All because of one person, this culture is." Ab'Soli shook his head. "Come, I wish to show you something which has remained my closely guarded secret for long." He led the way outside, where the last of the storm had finished passing by.

Ab'Soli led the way through the mountain paths, to a clearing where that pedistal he had previously been stood. He cleared the recent snow from the pedistal, before saying, "I have, I hope, told you of my people's past?"
