Mai shivered as she woke up early one morning. I should get to the stream to wash up. She got up and headed toward the stream, removing the sheet from her body. I should wash this while I'm here.

"I see. I recognize her by that scar on her face. She's helped me out a number of times. Sometimes, I'd be out working and fierce storms would set on. So fierce, I couldn't make it back to the cabin and sometimes would get injured trying. Anytime I'd pass out in a storm, I'd wake up in the warmth of her pouch."

"Let's have her take you to my place in her pouch. You need to get warmed up." The woodsman motioned for Valen to come down. "Long time no see, old friend."
"So, what brings you here?" Valen asked.
"Well, I was originally out here marking trees to cut and haul later, but I told your friend here I want to give her some new clothes. As cold as she is, it'd be a good idea for you to carry her to my house in your pouch."
