A few months later Mai sat by a bush as she began to harvest the last of the berries. She wore what once was a white sheet, a Pidgeotto had snatched it from a clothes line when her other clothes failed to fit due to the child growing inside her.

[He should offer her a place in his home to stay, but she refuses and he starts looking for her whenever he goes into the woods.]
