Barthello was amazed she trusted him this much, but he kept enough focus to keep the shield up. "You've opened up to me very quickly, seeing as you're the first Mew with such a secret to protect."

She stepped back and hooked some loose hair behind her ear, hesitated, then disappeared. "Idiot." Star and Ana were sitting not too far away. Star was shaking her head.

Ana followed him in. "You just made a move too fast, Barthello," the Eevee said. "I truly believe you still have a chance. And before you ask how I think I know this, it's because I know she likes you back. Adina just hasn't had any dealings in the matters of love for well over two thousand years. She's forgotten what's it's like. She doesn't know how to react anymore. She's surpressed her feelings toward anything for a long time."

"That was pretty harsh. Quite unlike you," Star said as she rejoined Ana.
"Yeah, I know, but sometimes people just get on my nerves so much. Plus, sometimes they need something like that to get it through their thick skulls," Ana said. "That was mostly just out of anger, though."
"Yeah, I know." Star licked Ana's ear.

Adina floated through the forest slowly, looking at the trees. Why are my feelings about him so conflicting? the Mew thought to herself. She sighed and shook her head. She wasn't paying any attention and rammed into a tree and rendered unconcious.

Barthello looked up as an Espeon ran in. "Adina is hurt. I can feel it." Barthello ran outside with the Espeon after hearing its words. With its help, he found Adina unconscious.
"Even if she doesn't want to see me, I can't leave her here." He scooped her up in his arms and got her back to the daycare, putting her in bed.
