In a back corner of the cafe, a boy and girl sat. They looked no older than about 16 or 17, but that's not what was unusual about them. Though many strange people walked the streets of Pokeoplis, this pair was definitely one of the oddest. The girl had pink and yellow striped hair with piercing blue eyes. She wore a cream shirt with brown sleeves and brown pants. The boy had purplish-black hair with scarlet eyes. He wore a simple purple shirt and black pants. He also wore a large grin on his face at times, though no one could tell what the emotions behind it were. The two talked in hushed, hurried tones to each other as they watched the people. Nobody could understand them, though; it was a language humans hadn't heard for mellenia.

"That's a strange language," a wild-haired man said, sitting near them "yet oddly familiar."

The pair stopped speaking instantly, staring at the man. The boy looked at him, his red eyes piercing. The girl shifted her weight and the boy looked at her, an eyebrow raised.

"What was that language?"

"One you humans don't know the likes of. You used to, but you had that right wrenched away many years ago." The girl's face was grave and dark. Her blue eyes turned to two chips of ice as she glared at him. The boy's face was just as dark, if not darker.

"I have heard that language before several thousand years ago."

The pair looked at each other, exchanging a few quick comments in a different one, totally unknown to any human except a select few. "Who are you?" The girl looked at him, her eyes still piercing. She wasn't going to give up anything about herself or her friend unless she knew she could trust him.

"Call me..." She looked at the boy and he adjusted his and on hers slightly. "Yume. Call him Genkei." The boy nodded shortly. Anyone could tell those were false names, but it was for their protection.

"I understand if you don't want to give your real names, but at least I have something to call you. Please, speak that language from before a bit more. It's been at leasst 20,000 years since I've heard it."

Yema and Garal (real names, obviously) looked at each other in mild shock though they only showed it through raised eyebrows. They exchanged a few quick comments in the language, but clearly were ill at ease doing so.

"Amazing that ones so young know this sacred language," Yami said in the language as well.

"You..." Yema snorted indignantly, speaking the language. "...clearly are no better than the rest. Though one of the oldest I've seen in my days, you are no better at identifying those of much older age than yourself." "Peace, Yema." Garal placed his hand on hers. He was speaking the language as well. "We have perfected out disguises. Only those well versed in magic or acquianted with ourselves would be able to tell so." "I suppose." She blinked, then smacked Garal. "Idiot! Using my real name! You know they can understand us just as well as he can." She glared at Yami. "Now you put all of us in danger!" Garal sighed, merely rubbing his cheek. "This is why I hate coming to Earth!"

"You...are not of earth?" Yami said in the language. "Well, I don't know what you're afraid of, but I myself am versed in some magic."

"We are, but we visit very rarely." Yema's voice was cold and emotionless as she continued to speak. "There is an organization..." "Shh.." Garal put a finger to his lips as he looked around. He looked at a woman in her mid-20's that was looking at them out of the corner of her brown eyes. He lapsed into the language only he and Yema could understand. "Not good. She's one of them. We've drawn attention to ourselves." His red eyes flashed in a mixture of anger and axiety. Yema nodded. She lapsed back into English. "Of course we're your friends." She looked uneasily at Yami. Barely anybody had turned to look at them while they had been speaking the language of the Pokemon Pantheon, but the woman had intently kept her eyes trained on the trio. She still did so. A pin of a black lily was visible on the right side of her shirt and it gleamed coldly in the light. Yema's and Garal's eyes were filled with anxiety.

"That woman looking this way. I get the feeling she is an enemy of yours. Should I erase her memory?"

"There's no way to." Yema's voice was bitter as she glared at the table. "They have an ability to be spared from any type of memory wipe. Even Feal's tried, but she's had no luck. None at all."

Yema sighed and closed her eyes. "Three...two..one..." The woman collapsed out of her chair, then disappeared. Garal was nowhere to be seen, but appeared a moment later. "Quick thinking." He nodded though his face was grim.

"He knocked her out, then dropped her off in the middle of the Shian Desert...in Sedora. We're safe for the time being. They don't have any members in Sedora." Yema breathed a sigh of relief.

"All right, but we are fairly capable of protecting ourselves."
"Peace, sister." Garal lapsed into the language they were speaking earlier. He didn't feel comfortable speaking in English. "He's only trying to help."
"I know, I know..." Yema sighed, lapsing back. "It's just so hard after so many hundreds of millions of years to rely on help from others."

"I rarely relied on help around 50,000 years ago, as well," Yami said.
