"The independence of our spirits is not one easily quelled. We are the embodiments of Ghost and Flying. We nurture the independence of our kind while watching over them. We run and fly freely as no others can. We live in harmony with nature as none can." Yema's hands were over her heart as she spoke, her head bowed and her eyes closed. Her voice was warm with pride and happiness.

"Impressive. If only I could pass on from this life. I've gotten lonely over 50,000 years."

"Long lives do get lonesome." Yema sighed a bit. "But I have my friends and family. It just gets so sad when you take a mate and they die in what seems the twinkling of an eye." She sighed again.

"I would know nothing of that. No friends, no family, no mate, no nothing," Yami said. "I never had any."

"That's so sad." Yema wasn't usually one much for compassion, but her blue eyes clearly showed some pity for him.

Yema nodded. She folded her hands and put them in her lap.

"Maybe someday, I'll find how to finally die and be free of this life."

"To this day, all my attempts at dying have failed. Whether it be poison, drowning, suffocation, or falling from a great height."

Yema nodded. "Mortals wish for immortality. To those that seek it, it is a gift. To use with it, it is a curse. I am bound by my duties until the end of time. Only when this dimension ceases to exist will I be able to move on."

"I can't say when I can move on, but if you have any way to help me, I'd appreciate it."

Yema hesitated, then dropped her voice to the softest whisper she could muster. "Garal and I... We're...Pantheon members. Of the second generation, but members nonetheless."

"It'd be best to do it somewhere isolated. We don't want to draw attention to ourselves."

Yema led them to an alley, then held her hand up, a shield forming over it. "This might not be your idea of 'isolated', but who comes down alleys? Plus, this shield keeps out all interferences unless a person has extremely powrful magic."
