Derrick sighed in content at his practicly baren suburb. He had just finished moving into the house and had used inheritance money to purchase the place. The inheritance would keep him going for years to come. Without much to do Derrick retrieved a book that he had bought earlier that morning and sat down on the leather sofa to read ot to pass the time. He considered letting Ayama out of her pokeball but decided not to, unless he wanted to increase the chance of his home being burned down. He sighed again as he got lost in a half trance while reading his book.

Zane, a three year old boy, ran up to the door and knocked. Kenji smiled as he followed his son to the door carrying a tray of sushi. Nozomi, his wife, walked beside him as she held their infant daughter Kushina.

Derrick heard the knock and closed his book. Standing from his seated position on the sofa, he walked to the door. He first checked from the window for no apparent reason, but out of force of habit. He then undid the lock and opened the door to see the family. "Er, Good Morning." he said calmly, not expecting to see a family so soon after moving in. He looked down to see the three year old boy. He knelt down to the boy so that he was at eye level. "Hi, what's your name?" he asked softly, believing that he should break from his little words to at least make a good impression to a family with kids.

"Nice to meet you Zane." Derrick said. He stood back up and spoke to the apparent father of the family. "What reason grants me the pleasure of having guests?" he asked, a little of his book side getting through.

"It isn't much. I havn't managed to garner much money lately to purchase furniture." Derrick said. "I have been saving for starting a pokemon journey. I was never able to start one when I was younger so I figured now is as good as ever. I havn't been able to keep up with modern news but I believe I should start in the Kanto Region, correct?"

"Really?" Derrick asked, suprised. "I guess my Charizard and I will try there and see how far we can get. Hopefully we can get a few badges and possibly face the Elite you have here."

"Thank you, allow me to take that from you." Derrick said and took the food from Kenji and placed it on the table in a nearby room. He returned. "Was there any other reason you wanted to see me?" he asked, his vocal chords starting to strain from talking so much. He wasn't used to it.
