Night climbed the mountains, reaching a small ledge hidden from view, which lead into a cave in the side of one of the Mountains. As he reached the cave, he looked in, appearently hesitant to go in, but not wanting to stay out either. He began walking foward, entering the cave. At the back was a small pedistal, with a strange instrument and a peice of paper stuck within. Night pulled out the paper, reading it, then stuck it in his back pocket.

Ombreon bounded after him in her Pokemon form. She knew the mountains could be dangerous for those that didn't know the area.

Night looked at the instrument. "An ocarina... i remember something about it... what was it? oh, yea, that's the instrument my mother used to play!"

An ocarina? That reminds me of Hyrule, Ombreon thought, blinking. And Annie... That girl was the epitome of bad decisions...

Night lifted the ocarina to his lips, trying it out, and found he could play simple melodies. "I see, i have a natural gift. Most likely from my mother's side of the family."

Night started to play, the melody's power made clear to those around, in such a way that they wish to play along.

Ombreon was rather unaffected by the melody. She had been around enchanting tunes before and wasn't able to easily be affected by them.

As he played, a rumbling sound was heard as the back wall opened a crack, Night started walking through there while he played, and after he had passed the song ended, and the stone slid back into place.

A few moments later, the door opened again to the tune of the ocarina, Night stepping out with a large rod across his back. When the song finished, the door closed. "Got the artifact."

"Well, are you just going to sit there, or are we on the way out?" Night commented jokingly, putting the ocarina in his pocket and pulling the staff off of his back. "I remember something Anasazi said, 'A staff is both a tool and a weapon. You must learn to be like the staff, a support to those around you, and a one who defends those who are defenceless."

(I'd like Night to get a chance to mess around with the new artifact, so could you brainstorm some tragedy, accident, or attempted assassination?)
"Anasazi left me a note, that's how i was able to get the staff. But I can't understand it..." Night looked around, obviously feeling he couldn't say more.

Night slapped his head, "I knew that, but where outside?" He raced after Ombreon, looking around to see if he could spot the danger.

A six year old girl was hanging over the edge of a cliff, screaming. "My gosh!" Ombreon said. A girl who was clearly almost fifteen was standing nearby, horror struck.

Night ran over. "Here, grab onto the end of this!" He said to the little girl, holding the staff out for her to grab onto. "I'll pull you up!"

"Do it, Ai-chan!" Ayami, the older girl, yelled. The little girl grabbed the end of the staff.

Night pulled on his end, bringing the girl up slowly. Once she was up, he helped her to her feet. "There you go, no worse for wear. however, be more careful in the future. You're lucky i was in the area and able to help."

Aimi ran to her older sister, hugging her with tears streaming down her face. "Arigatou gozaimasu," Ayami said bowning.
"She said thank you very much," Ombreon said. "I understand a little Japanese."
"Thank you. I don't know what I would've done if I had lost my little sister," Ayami said.

"You could have been more active in saving her. Look around, there're trees and branches nearby." Night seemed to be scolding the older sister, but his voice was kind. "If something like that happens again, whether by your sister or a stranger, be more resourceful, ok?"

Ayami bowed her head, fighting tears. "Night, I know you're being kind on it, but she was frozen with fear. Aimi is the only family Ayami has left," Ombreon said.

Tears streamed down Ayami's face. "Night, stop," Ombreon said, her voice extremely stern. "You're only making it worse." She took a step forward.

"I have seen many tears fall. But sometimes, falling tears represents change. Although my words may hurt now, someday she will recognise it is sound advice." Night said quietly to Ombreon, then turned to walk away.

Ayami silently walked away with Aimi. Ombreon followed Night, then slapped him. "You idiot!" she snapped. "You have no idea what those two have been through! You reminded Ayami of everything she's been through. You weren't able to tell, but she was missing an arm and a leg because she tried human transmutation. She lost those because she was trying to bring back somebody she loved for her and her sister." She narrowed her eyes.
