"Can I hold her?" Kate asked.
Alaric nodded. "Just wash your hands first."
Kate nodded and did so. She gently held Nikki in her arms, the infant looking at her with blue eyes.

Goram smiled. "So cute. Oh. We also brought Lita, Killi, and Hinni. I hope you don't mind. They're having a little trouble getting up the stairs. Ever since Lita lost the use of her legs."

Lita, Killi, and Hinni finally made it up the stairs and into the room. Lita floated on her wings. "Aww. So cute," she said. Hinni said nothing. She just stared at the floor.
