She shrugged and replenished her air supply.

"If I could just find the connection. The legend is around 10,000 years old."

SHe blinked and covered her mouth, bubbles floating up. She quickly headed toward the surface and broke.

He followed after her. "What's the matter?" he asked. "Was it something I said?"

"That was the only time Lady Fele loved. The man betrayed her and left her."

"Oh my." Kuruk looked down. "Do you know his name by chance? I doubt he's alive, but what was his name?"

"I don't know. Only Lady Fele does, but she never speaks it. Lady Tsukino would, though."

"I need to know his name. If the name is the same, then I know something that you, and Lady Fele most of all, need to hear."

She swam to the shore, then snapped to dry off.

He came to shore and used a blast of waterbending to surge the water off him.

She teleported with him to Lady's home. It was a huge mansion with ornate decorations.

Kuruk looked around. "This place is impressive, but we shouldn't waste any time. The information I have, if it really is about the man Fele loved, could be life-changing for her."

"Lady!" Aya called and an elegant woman in a long dress appeared. "Yes, Aya?" "What was the name of the man Lady Fele loved?" Lady blinked. "Oh my. I haven't heard any mention of him in a long time. But I believe his name was Unvar or something along those lines."

"Unvar the Regretful," Kuruk said. "The legend matches up. I believe he is the same one who started the legend in our world. Can one of you call Lady Fele please?"

"No. It's for her ears only. The final testament of Unvar the Regretful. He placed a spell on it so that if anyone tried to read it without being in her presence, they would instantly be struck down on the spot. It has been entrusted to every Avatar since the Avatar began to exist."

"I'l see if I can get her down here." She closed her eyes and began to pray rapidly. Fele appeared. "I can only spare a few moments."

"The few moment will not be wasted," Kuruk said, opening the scroll. "'As I feel myself getting on in years and I feel my life coming to an end, I still hold one major regret. Betraying Fele, the love of my life. An incredibly woman, both in body and spirit. I didn't want to betray her. I didn't want to leave her behind. If I'd had a choice, I'd still be with her today. My trip to this world was not by my choice. I was being called here, by some force I never did identify. I was forced to leave her behind. I never got to tell her why I was leaving. I write these words in hopes that someday, some soul should travel back to my world and by chance meet her. Lady Fele, I am sorry for what happened, but I was called to this world when it was on the verge of complete destruction. I was brought here to save it. Much as I wanted to tell you, the spirit who pulled me here would not allow it. I don't ask that you forgive me. I only want you to forget me and to try to find it in your heart to love one more time.' That's all he wrote," Kuruk said as the scroll began to disintegrate. "I don't know if it means anything to you, but it's bee the Avatar's duty to guard that since the first Avatar was born."

She closed her eyes, disappearing. That had been all the time she had been able to spare. "Oh dear. Poor Fele," Lady muttered. "I doubt she'll turn on her vows again, though..."

"As I said, I don't know if it meant anything to her, but it was a sacred duty and since I'm the first Avatar to make it to this world, it was my job to relay the message. How do you think she took it?"

"Hard. I've known her for nearly all my life since I was a priestess for her before the Pantheon fell. She's still a close friend. She thought he betrayed her, but now she knows why. Ten thousand years of heartbreak."

"I can see how that could happen." He looked down. "Unvar always wanted to apologize to her in person. That's what the legend said. Maybe next time she's free, I could allow him to do just that. He exists in the spirit world linked to my world. Though we're not in my world, I can likely still contact him."

"I'd imagine. I did give you fair warning that the information I had could be life changing for her. Just relay the message for me. If she wants to see Unvar face to face so he can apologize, all she has to do is come talk to me."
