"Hey, didja hear? It seems the Ciscos are in town." A man sat at a table next to another. "I did hear about that, but it seems they're only rumors." The other man said. A third guy turned around, "The Ciscos? Who're they?" "You've never heard of the Ciscoes? They're the best merc team money can buy. Or so I'm told." The first man said. "Mercenaries? Ha. Bet they're really actually not nearly as scary as they sound." The third guy commented, "They seem like schmucks to me." A man wearing a checkered headband, with black hair and green eyes, looked up. "Who's a schmuck?" "The Ciscos. They're a bunch of schmuck who hide behind silly legends." The third guy said, just before two twin women stepped up on either side of him. "We don't like it when people make fun of us. Right, Chris?" The one on his left stated. She was wearing a green dress. "It's true, we don't." The other woman stated, wearing a similar blue dress. "Whaddya say we punish him, huh Kelly?" The man with the headband rose. "That won't be necessary. I don't think he came looking for trouble. Didja?" The man shook his head, "No sir." "Awww, that's so boring~." Chris complained, "Do you have to be so tight-laced all the time, Jack?" "Of course. Who knows what kind of trouble you'd get yourselves into without me keeping you in line."

A woman sitting in the corner watched them curiously.

"Aw, come on. We're not that bad." Kelly commented. Jack nodded to the twins, who went and sat down at a nearby table, then made his way over to the observer. He sat down in a nearby chair, waiting for her to start the conversation.

"Hello." He replied, "I noticed you watching us. Have you got a problem?"

"No. I was merely observing. I have been in this town since its beginning. I merely like to see how things change." She rested her chin on the back of her hands and looked at him. She clearly had no fear of him.

"You're fearless." Jack set his hand on the table, impressed. "That can be a good thing, and it can be a bad thing." He leaned forward, "Just stay out of our business, and we'll stay out of yours. We're not here to be anyone's friend. We're here to do our jobs as efficently as possible." With that, he rose and walked over to the twins. Some time later, a jumpy-looking man entered the club, and started looking around. He seemed to be looking for someone.

Insyo smiled. SHe had no reason to fear anybody.

The man walked over to Insyo's table. "Would you be Chris, by any chance?"

"No. My name is Insyo. I am the head priestess at the church in this city."

"Oh..." The man looked disappointed, starting to walk away. The woman in blue had been watching him, and casually rose and intercepted him. "It looks like you're searching for someone. Maybe I've seen them around?" The man turned around, "Really? I'm looking for a Chris..." "Ah yeah! Right over here." She pointed at the woman in green at the table.
(Yes yes, I know the one in blue is Chris.)

The pair sat down, at the Cisco's table. "Jack and Chris, the employer." Kelly looked at Chris, confused for half a second before grinning. "Good work, Kelly. It's nice to finally meet you after talking on the phone." Jack wasn't lucky enough to catch on, and was about to say something when 'Chris' set her stelletto heel on top of his foot. "You have something to say, Jack?" Although she said it kindly, there was an underlining tone which was warning him to keep his mouth shut.

"Uh, nothing important. I was just going to ask if you wanted to move somewhere else. It seems there's a bug nearby." He tilted his head slightly in Insyo's direction. "Ooh, that is a big one." 'Kelly' stated, "I suppose we can't just squash it, then." "Not this time." Jack said, getting up. "There's another table over there, that should be far enough away." The group moved a couple tables down.

SHe just smiled. No matter how far they moved, she would be able to hear them.

(I thought so.)
The client spoke first. "As I've told you, my shop's being threatened by a bunch of thugs. They've given me a month to pay them protection money." "How much?" Jack asked. "Three thousand." The client continued, "They claim to be from Team Phantom. I don't know if they really are or not."

Feh. Team Phantom would not do something so petty, she thought.

"Alright,, we'll help you out. But our guns aren't cheap. One thousand initiative, and another hundred to each target neutralized." Jack leaned back, "You seem like an honest guy though, so I'll let you pay it off over time."

[Blackwinds=Most evil organization in the world. Called the Black Lillies until Lilly turned good. I'm still working out their new objectives. Team Emerald=Teams Rocket/Magma/Aqua combined]
Insyo closed her eyes and a Helbean appeared behind her.
[That's one of UG's fakemon. Look for "Beings of Light and Darkness" in her Fakemon thread]

(thanks for the info. Although I wouldn't have your character interfere unless you want her to get chewed out... Not only would she be sticking her nose into the Cisco's business, again, but Jack would take it as an insult to their reputation for someone else to jump in.)
The group arrived at a medium sized pawn shop. Jack pointed up and to his left and right to a pair of fire escapes which would act well as crow's nests.
(Crows nest: military term for any location from which a soldier picks off enemy units; the residing place of a sniper.)

[She's not really interfering; she's just observing.]
"IS the target gone?" Insyo asked. "She has been elimnated." Insyo nodded.

(The way you wrote that makes it seem like she's talking to herself.)
The twins ran off to the fire escapes, and found that they could see (between the two of them) in every direction in front of the shop. They each drew a pulse rifle from their hammerspace, both of the rifles included scopes. Jack himself took a position inside. He pointed at a window. "How much did this cost? Fifty?" The shopkeeper nodded. "Subtract it from our fees." Jack said, shattering it out with a pulse handgun he had drawn from his hammerspace. He drew a second one, and crouched down.

[She just likes to keep tabs on what goes on around the city.]
"Would you like me to go keep an eye on them, Mastress?" the Helbean asked. "If you wish." He nodded and bowed, disappearing, then reappeared on one of the buildings, invisible and unsensable.
[And I don't mean "mistress". Mastress is a title of the highest respect in Thaetheroth, the City of Shadows in the 3rd D]

A group of young men in their twenties came walking up. "It's them." The shopkeeper stated. Jack gave a low whistle, which was copied twice. Those not aware of their presence would think it was a bird. The ruffians stepped into range of all three ciscos, and in the chaos that ensued were all blasted. "A decent warm-up." Jack said, "Six targets, three seconds."

Jack walked out to them. "Now listen up, and listen well. I don't know what you're doing here, and I don't care. I was paid to make sure you never show your faces around here again. I can do that in one of two ways. You can admit your defeat and walk away, or you can keep fighting and get hurt." One of the punks just laughed. "You've got some guts threatening representatives of Blackwinds." A steel bullet embedded itself in the ground next to the punk's head. "I don't care whether you're from Blackwinds or the Daisies," Jack said, "If you or your buddies show up here again, you're dead."
