"You're welcome to sleep over here with me," Horace said. "Tora wants his mama."

"Sorry not this tiiiime." Rijina stifled a yawn. "After doing that, I need some space to myself." She yawned again. She smiled, then went up to her room.

"Mama," Tora said quietly in her sleep. "Darn," Horace said. "If she'd stayed a few more seconds, she'd have heard Tora say his first word." "I'll fix that," Gail said. "McReary Timereary." The spell put time back just before Rijina went upstairs. "Wait a moment, Rijina." "Mama." Tora said again. "Did you hear that?" Horace asked. "Tora said his first word. He said mama."

Rijina nodded sleepily. Normally, she would've been excited, but after the transfusion, her mind became sluggish and she couldn't dicern much. She walked back upstairs, somewhat robotically. "Cut her a little slack," Eria said. "I've heard her talk about doing that and the consequences a few times. For a while afterward if she doesn't get sleep, she kind of becomes a zombie."

"Oh, ok. I'm just glad she got to hear Tora's first word," Horace said, wrapping his wings and tails around Tora to help him stay warm.

Eria nodded and headed into the kitchen. "Man. Some Christmas Eve this has been," she muttered to herself. The Leafia's ears wiggled when she heard a faint knock on the door. She went and aswered it. "Hello there, Theri." The girl, still appearing not older than 13 or so, smiled and spelled something out in sign language and Eria smiled too. "Of course you're welcome over here for the holidays."

"Yeah," gail said in full agreement, still a little shaken up from the whole incident only moments before.

Theri came in, her Gardevoir, which was unusually black and gray, came inside. "First time in a few years you've been over here for the holidays," Alec said. The girl spelled something out and Alec nodded. "You're right. It was pretty scary what just happened."

"I thought we were going to die," Gail said. "Worse, I thought our children were going to die."

Theri nodded and gently put her hand on Gail's neck, letting some pure magic, calm and soothing, go in. She smiled and did the same for Alec. Alec smiled. "Thanks, Ther. That always works, no amtter who ro what the situation."

Theri smiled and nodded. "Man, you're really talented," Alec said, patting Theri on the head. She smiled and her face showed she was silently giggling at the praise, happy for the small amount.

Eria hummed while working in the kitchen. She was one of those quick rebounder types. But being a morph, she had faced worse and not much phased her anymore except discrimination and the threat of death. Theri walked into the kitchen and asked in sign language if she could help. "Of course," Eria said.

"Why did they try to take you away, mama?" Lasana asked. "It's better off if you don't know."

ooc: Much much later.
Horace smiled, watching Tora romp around and play. He'd been walking for a while, but it was fun to watch him still. "Isn't he cute, honey?" he said with his arm around Rijina's shoulders.

Tora had his memories of his past life, but he still reffered to Horace as daddy. "Mom, dad, can I have a little brother or sister?" he asked, coming up to them. Horace nearly fell over from surprise.

Horace helped Rijina back to her feet. "Well, we hadn't considered it, Tora." "Sorry. I've just always wondered what it would be like to have a brother or sister. You know that back in my first life, I was an only child."
