Alaric sat next to Derek on the couch, his head resting on his shoulder. Derek smiled and kissed Alaric's silver hair as the baby kicked.

Derek stayed beside Alaric as he slept, gazing in admiration at his slowly changing body. Gently, he put his ear to Alaric's middle, listening. Alaric stirred after a while. Derek smiled and kissed the baby bump. "I'll always protect you, little one." He whispered.
