A flock of Spearow flew at them from all directions.

He snarled, leaping off her shoulder with his mouth open, as he went for the neck of the nearest one.

They easily pulled back, avoiding Nero's fangs. The flock chirped in a mocking manner, clearly taunting his small size.

The Spearow dodged using Agility, then used Gust on him.

He took the hit like it was nothing, then used Double Team, surrounding the Spearow, and the teeth of all the copies glowed a light yellow as they used Super Fang, jumping at the Spearow they surrounded, chomping down on it.

The rest of the flock used Aerial Ace on Nero and the clones, making all the clones disappear.

Nero screamed out in pain, clearly on the edge of fainting, though he wouldn't give up until the flock was gone. He launched Quick Attack after Quick Attack, systematically hitting each Spearow at least once.

A loud call came from above and all the Spearow flew off. A Fearow was floating in the air, then used Steel Wing on Nero, hitting him square in the chest.

Nero crumpled to the ground, fainting.

She picked him up and the Fearow glared at her. It swooped, again using Steel Wing, but aiming for Soniel. She screamed, but a blast of fire came out of nowhere. The Fearow squawked loudly and flew off. Soniel looked around for the source of the fire, but found nothing.

The wind started blowing to the north, telling Soniel where to go. She started running as fast as possible toward Virmilion to get Nero to the Pokemon Center.

At the Pokemon Center, Kiai was asleep in one of the chairs, completely exhausted, due to the fact that he had ran in a dead sprint the entire way.

Soniel was dead on her feet by time she got there. "Nurse Joy, please take care of him!" she said, handing him to the nurse. Joy nodded and took Nero to treat him.

She walked over and sat next to him, resting her head on his shoulder and falling asleep.

The next morning, Kiai woke up, looking around, then blushing a bit when he noticed that Soniel was asleep on his shoulder.
