Soniel stood out near the river, watching her Eevee play in the water. It wouldn't be muc longer until she started her journey. Though she was fourteen, she had waited four years to learn more before starting.

Kiai was a few yards down the river from Soniel, watching over his small Rattata as it ran around. He smiled. He'd waited all this time to start his journey because he could never find a Pokemon that he liked.

"Guess we should be heading on out soon, huh?" she asked Kiai. "We've waited years for this. It's about time we went off."

He looked at her, then smiled and nodded. "I suppose we should get going," He held his hand out to Nero, who crawled up to his shoulder, where he stood up on his hind legs, still and proud.

Soniel picked her Eevee up. "Wee~" she said cutely. Soniel smiled and patted her head.

She picked up her backpack and slung it over her shoulder. "Mwee~?" Savena asked.
"We're going to Viridian first," Soniel said. The Eevee nodded.

She followed. Savena looked around, her ears twitching. The Eevee was only about two months old, barely old enough to leave her mother's side.

Nero turned on Kiai's shoulder to face his fellow Pokemon. Kiai continued walking, hands in his pockets.

Savena continued to look around curiously. She wiggled in Soniel's arms, but her trainer refused to let her go.

Nero stretched, then shrugged, turning so he looked in front of him. Kiai yawned. He was bored, anyone that knew him at all could tell that.

"Stop it or you're going in your Pokeball!" Soniel snapped, her Eevee wearing on her nerves about twenty minutes later. The pup's ears dropped and the Eevee sighed.

Kiai stopped, turning to look at them. His Rattata's ears twitched, as he wanted to keep moving. "Please don't shout, Soniel," Kiai said.

She nodded and looked at it. The Pikachu was a light gray where it was normally yellow and its cheeks were black. Everywhere else was dark blue.

She sat Savena down and the Eevee looked at her. "Mwee?"
"Remember hwo your mom taught you Tackle and stuff?" Soniel said.
"Just take me with you!" the PIkachu yelped, grabbing onto her leg. Soniel stared at the Pikachu, wide-eyed. Pokemon in Kanto almost never spoke English unless the circumstances were dire.

The Pikachu looked up at her with pleading eyes. "Ka?"
"Uh, sure...." Soniel muttered, blinking. She took a Pokeball and tapped it on the Pikachu's head, capturing it. "Weirdest capture ever..."
