Seyn blinked and picked up what he had dropped.

It was his notebook, and within it was his math notes.

She blinked and looked at it. His math notebook...? Well, lunch is next... Maybe I could just copy them real fast, then give it back at the end of lunch... I can't understand any of this stuff...

Itsuki put his books away, and noticed the missing notebook. "Hm. Musta dropped it. Oh well..."

She got out her wallet and made sure she had enough, then headed to lunch.

Itsuki sat down at a table at the edge of the cafeteria. No other students sat there, favoring places next to their friends. He began eating his meal amidst the usual din of lunch.

Seyn sat down with her lunch and started eating, nobody sitting around her.

She quickly finished copying the notes in about five minutes, then started eating.

Lunch was almost over by that time, and Itsuki had finished eating. He stood up and started heading out of the cafeteria.

She finished eating and threw her trash away, then eaded to her locker.

Itsuki reached his locker, and was checking his supplies. Dang. The only other notebook I have is that one.

She opened her bag and took out Itsuki's math notebook, handing it back to him. "Here. You dropped his."

"Oh really?" He looked her in the eye, "Where?" It seemed as though he was trying to determine if she was being honest.

"You dropped it just before you got out of class." She held his gaze, everything about her saying she was honest. "I didn't need to come to my locker before lunch, so I figured I'd give it to you afterward."

Itsuki didn't look convinced, but accepted the notebook from her anyway. "Thanks." He said, grudgingly but honestly.

Itsuki switched his books as well. "I'm headed to battle practice today. You?"

He grinned, "Too bad. You won't get to see how a real fight should be." His eyes glinted with good-humor, "Without the fancy contest moves."

She shrugged. "I grew up in the Orange Islands; it's the style I'm used to since I studied under the leaders there." She grinned. "IF you wanna see more of my strategy, come by the practice field after school. See who's better. It won't be an official gym match, just for fun."

Itsuki chuckled, "I'm no idiot. The majority of Larvitar's moves wouldn't touch that bird of yours." He said, then turned and started walking away, saying over his shoulder, "Well, I've wasted enough time."

On his way to the field, he found himself enjoying himself for once. It felt wierd. He came across several other people, projecting his usual face. How strange. I can't stand her, and yet I find myself wanting to be near her, ever since she started leaving me alone. Did I ever... consider her a friend? Heh, guess you really can't tell a book by it's cover... Or what you have until you lose it.

Seyn dozed off in class, having already learned everything the teacher was talking about.

Itsuki was fighting alongside Larvitar against their third opponent, a houndour. "Sandstorm." Larvitar kicked up sand, blinding the opponent. "Dig." The pokemon took refuge underground, waiting for the best time to strike. The houndour and it's trainer, after being blinded by the flying sand, hadn't seen where Larvitar had disappeared to, and so were unprepared for the incoming attack. "Now." Larvitar burst from the ground, knocking the houndour into the air. "Swift." The Houndour was pelted by stars, mercilessly knocking it out.

Itsuki sat down, already bored even though the class hadn't started yet. His mind naturally wandered to the most interesting thing, the notebook. I'll bring it home tonight and test it. We'll see what it does.
