A small public high school that focuses on a balance of magic and Pokemon. -------- Seyn walked up and looked at her schedule. "Senior classes. Should be fun." She smiled and giggled a bit, heading to her locker.

A locker next to Seyn's was open, and someone was behind the locker's door. When the person closed the door, it was Itsuki. He didn't seem to notice Seyn, but if he had, he would have disappeared into the crowd of students in this passing period.

"Hi, Itsuki!" Seyn said, smiling brightly as she struggled with the lock. "Ah, stupid thing... I've never been good with these stupid combination locks... Think you could please help me?"

A couple students stopped and looked, whispering among themselves: "That's Itsuki the cold!" "She's asking him for help? Must be new!" "She can't be, she knew his name!" "Maybe she's an old friend?" Itsuki looked at her, answering without even stopping to think. "No. You're annoying. You can fail for all I care. After all, then you'd be outta my hair." The students watching shivered, one muttering, "So cold..."

She just shrugged and smiled, unfazed. "Come on, Eddy!" A Poliwrath appeared and he blinked. "Yes?" "You know these things better than I do." Eddy shook his head and opened the locker for her. "Thanks." "It's no problem." She returned Eddy and closed the door, heading to her first class.

Itsuki was sitting at a desk in the back corner, and had the white notebook from yesterday open on his desk. (Have her touch the notebook, please.)

"You must be Seyn," the teacher said. "Our new student. Introduce yourself, please." "Of course, ma'am." Seyn smiled. "I'm Seyn Doran, granddaughter of Lorelei Doran of the Kanto Elite Four. I'm here to replace Nia Mishima as the gym leader. I grew up on South Mandarin Island, but a lot of my time was spent with the gym leaders and traveling all the islands. That's why I'm so tan." She smiled happily and some of the students looked at each other, clearly slightly weirded out by her chipper mood. "Interesting. Well, the only open seat is next to Itsuki. I hope you don't mind sitting in the back." "Of course not, ma'am." She smiled and walked to her desk, brushing the notebook as she did so.
[You're not going to have him change anything about her, right? Probably a stupid question, but really better safe than sorry because he's seeing her as an annoyance.]

(Yeah, no, he's not gonna. It's just gonna prove to him that the notebook's for real. Of course, he will have to seriously think about it before deciding not to...)
"Watch it." Itsuki told her as he put his hand on his belongings. He noticed some writing on the open page. Wha...? Information on her? When did this get here? There surely wasn't enough time for her to write all this... (The notebook stores the subject's name, age, and the attributes a person has: height, eye color, hair color, etc. Abilities are also considered attributes.) No way, it couldn't be that the book is for real? Hehheh, I could edit her data now if I wanted to. She wouldn't be in my hair anymore, if I did... But would it be safe? If she died or was suffering, nobody else would know I was behind it, but I wouldn't want the guilt. For now I'll just keep this notebook safe. The teacher had begun talking, and Itsuki began listening to her, but found his mind continued to wander back to the notebook.
(There. He now realizes the power and responsibility he has. Thanks for your help in the matter.)

Seyn paid attention closely to the teacher, taking notes.

Itsuki took whatever notes he could with the notebook on his mind, and before long the bell rang. He was one of the last out of the class, and headed toward his locker.

She went to her locker and got her stuff after Eddy opened the locker. She said absolutely nothing to Itsuki, having sensed what he was feeling when he found out about the notebook.

It'd be best to keep the notebook here for now. Itsuki thought, putting the notebook into his locker and pulling out the books for the next class. After that, he realized Seyn was next to him, and was surprised she wasn't bothering him.

"I'm bubbly and happy, but I'm not stupid," she said, sensing his feelings. "I could tell you wanted to hurt me with that notebook. You wouldn't be able to stand the guilt, but you still wanted to hurt me. I was just trying to be nice and trying to be your friend, but I guess you just want to be alone." Her tone was somewhat cold as she said the last sentence and she shut her locker. "Believe it or not, we're not too different. We're both alone." She shouldered her bag, then walked to her next class.

Itsuki just shrugged and headed off toward his own class. Shoulda taken the chance while I had it. Woulda served her right for snooping. He shook his head, clearing his mind of such dangerous thoughts. No, the notebook's guide said there were ways to help people using it. I've got to find some way to use it fir positive changes. But until I'm sure of how to use it, I won't use it at all.

Seyn pushed away the bad memories and looked at her schedule. "Ooh! Advanced battle strategy!" She dashed outside to the battlefield.

Itsuki was at the far side of the field, taking PE. His Larvitar stayed by his side, running through an obsticle course alongside him.

"You must be Seyn, our newest student and the new gym leader," the teacher said. "Yep!" Seyn said, smiling. Students started to whisper, wondering why she was in a battle strategy class if she was a gym leader. "Anyone wanna battle me?" She looked at the teacher, smiling. "I think I'm more here to be an assistant than a student." "That's what Mr. Lobo said," the teacher said. "I'll take you on. You don't look so tough," a muscular freshman boy said. He towered a good head and a half over Seyn, who was only 5'3". "Don't let looks fool you." She smiled at him. "Let's jsut go one on one." "Afraid of losing?" "Nope. Just quickest. I'll go easy on you, too." "Don't go easy on me!" the boy snapped. "Go full out!" "All right, you asked for it. Sunflower!" A bright yellow Pidgeot appeared. "I can beat that thing easy. Raiden!" He let out a Raichu that was larger than average. Seyn studied the surrounding area. "I can work with this," she said, smiling. "Wires for practicing balance, balance beams, trees, ledges... Yep, it'll work great."

Itachi was first to the finish on the course, his teamwork with Larvitar without fault. He held out his hand and Larvitar jumped, giving an impression of a high-five.

[lol, you put Itachi, not Itsuki]
"What in the world are you talking about?" the boy asked. "Oh, you'll see." Seyn smiled as she took her place on the battlefield. Sunflower fluttered into place and started preening her feathers. She ignored the fact that Raiden's cheeks were sparking dangerously.
"Begin!" the teacher said, acting as judge.
"Raiden, Quick Attack and THundershock!" The Raichu nodded and charged at Sunflower. the Pidgeot fluttered up, easily dodging the attacks, also making it graceful. She swooped down and Seyn hopped on her back. "Are you nuts?!"
"Nope!" Seyn smiled as Sunflower flew into a Sky Attack. She was so fast that the eye couldn't follow her movement. Raiden tried to dodge, but got most of the force. Sunflower wheeled around gracefully, then dove down again. Seyn jumped off her back, landing in a tree as Sunflower used a powerful Steel Wing. Raiden flew into the air and Seyn jumped onto Sunflower's back again. She maintained a perfect handstand even though the Pidgeot was completely vertical in the air. Sunflower began spinning and hit Raiden with a Drill Peck that spent him spiraling into the ground, making a crater.
Sunflower started to fly down to the ground in a controlled spiral. Seyn jumped off her back about fifteen feet in the air and did several flips, then landed perfectly on the ground, Sunflower fluttering behind her.
"And the winner is Seyn!" the teacher said. The whole class was quiet. The boy had an undescribable look on his face.

(Ah, darn. I keep unconsiously writing itachi. I usually catch it before I post it though...)
Itsuki (いつき) had watched the battle, surprised at both her skill, and her childish showing off. He did his stretches alongside his Larvitar, preparing for the next class.
(When learning Japanese, it's always useful to learn the hiragana and katakana characters. The above are hiragana. If you'd like, I'll post more characters in later posts, if not then I won't, but I figured I'd extend the offer. By the way, the characters are split: i-tsu-ki.)

[YEah. Learning hira and kana would be useful.]
The boy returned Raiden, still in a state of numb shock. Seyn smiled, returning Sunflower. "And that's one of my battle strategies. Any other takers?" Everyone shook their heads.

Itsuki finished stretching, returned Larvitar, and headed back to his locker to get the stuff for the next class. "Sensei (せんせい) I'm going to take my leave." He told the teacher, who nodded.

The bell rang and Seyn looked over. "Man, I was having fun helping teach..." She checked her schedule and groaned, unusual for her. "Math..."

Itsuki's feet carried him to his locker, where his schedule was posted within the door. He checked it, and pulled out his book, a brand new textbook for math. He trudged through the hall, heading to class. Why? Why is that girl on my mind ever since then? It's not like I liked her or her constant annoyances... I'm much better off now, anyway. And even so, I had told her several times until then to leave me alone, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to her that I don't like her. Itsuki reached the door and headed in, finding he was one of the last ones in. He found a pair of seats next to each other, and took one.

She muttered under as she sat in the seat next to Itsuki, taking out her math book. SHe raised the book to her face so she wouldn't have to look at him. Man, figures I'd be one of the last ones in. Teacher holding me back like that... She shook her head and sighed, paying attention to the teacher. Unfortunately, she was quickly lost due to having only basic algebra skills. I don't know any of this stuff... SHe put her head down. THough she was normally an optimist, whe wasn't in the best mood.

Itsuki glanced over at her, and was somewhat surprised at her troubles. "Spent too much time practicing showing off, huh?" He whispered to her, "I thought you said earlier you weren't stupid...?"
(Ooh, SLAM! lol.)

"The teacher was asking me some questions about my strategy so she could incorporate it into her classes for later years," she hissed, glaring at him. "And I wasn't showing off! It's my battle strategy. I'm a Pokemon Handler as well as a battler."

Itsuki looked somewhat amused, "Ah, a strategy as annoying as the person who uses it. What's the point of fancy moves, when the entire point of battling is defeating the opponent? Obviously, the faster you win, the better you are." Itsuki grinned mischieviously, "For a Gym Leader, you seem better suited for dorky contests..."

After class ended, Itsuki stood up and as he walked by Seyn, he dropped something. He continued walking, heading to his locker.
