"No. I just lack cooked food." He sighed and shook his head. He shrugged. "Well, whatever." He turned around and began to walk off.

Kasai shook her head and continued cooking, then put the food on two plates for her and Samina. She sat Samina's plate on the ground and the fox began to eat happily

Cade dug in his back, and took out a small bundle. He opened the bundle and took out a biscuit. After nibbling on it, he put it back, clearly now full.

Kasai finished eating then snapped to clean up the area, leaving it looking like nobody had been there. SHe saddle Mori again and mounted. "Into the night we ride." She clucked and the gelding started trotitng.

"You may want to travel faster if you do not wish to be dragged into an abyss of living nightmares," Kasai said. Her tone was cool and she was stating a clear, true fact. A small ball of light hung above her, casting a halo of light in about a teen foot diameter.

"Do not blame me when you get dragged into the Abyss." She shrugged, clearly not caring if he got left behind or not. She'd leave him to the demons of the night if she had to get to Piren.

Mori snorted, shaking his mane with contempt at the halfling. He flicked his tail, hitting Cade in the face. "Mori!" Samina said, popping her head out of her saddlebag.

A few weeks later, MOri sidestepped, his ears against his skull as he looked up at the dark skies that ung over Perin. The sky went from bright blue to jet black. Kasai shivered a bit, unnerved by the powerful dark magic she sensed.

Cade was atop Anailleth, their pace was a slow one. A low growl was emitting from Anailleth, as its eyes darted around nervously. Cade shivered.

Kasai dismounted and Samina jumped out of her saddlebag. She untacked the gelding and stashed the saddle behind a tree though she knew nobody would come around. She shivered again, then started walking into the twisted, gray forest.

Cade slid off of Anailleth and followed Kasai. The panther slipped off to the side of the forest, it's padded foot falls making no sound as it moved ahead of the group, clearly acting as a scout.

Samina went in the opposite direction of Anailleth, acting as another scout. "Stay close," Kasai whispered to Cade as the trees rustled around them. The air was heavy and a slight breeze blew, but it sounded more like a moan than a breeze.

A heart-churning howl ripped through the air and Kasai shuddered. It was highly visible. Kasai's silver eyes darted around as she drew one of her daggers. The black fog around them began to move, though shapes were indistinguishable

Cade slowly drew his silver mace. A roar floated down to them, clearly coming from Anailleth.

Samina darted back to Kasai, her fur glowing brightly. The movment stopped and Kasai breathed a sigh of relief. "I really ought to stay with you..." the fox muttered. She blinked when she heard the roar, then darted off to find Anailleth in case he was in danger. Kasai lifed her hand, a ball of light floating above them. The movement started again, but not as much as before.

Anailleth was surrounded by the black fog, his bright red eyes easily visible behind it. His eyes were clearly very determined, as he snapped and scratched at the fog. Normally, he would have thought of a better plan, but the fog disoriented him.

As Samina approached, the fog peeled back and the moaning grew louder. "Come on!" she said when she got to Anailleth. "LEt's go!"

Samina's feet also didn't make a sound as she raced back to Kasai and Cade. The movement around them moved farther from them as Kasai looked around.
