Quest 1

[Kiki]

An opaque mass of black spirits became visible, reaching out for both Kasai and Cade. "Help us," the spirits moaned. "Help..." Kasai's eyes flashed in panic and alarm as Mori bucked, almost sending her flying off the saddle. But being the acomplished rider she was, she managed to hang on.

[Zappy]

Cade blinked, reaching in his pocket and grabbing his figurine. He sat it on the ground, and muttered a few words, a highly muscled black panther appeared in front of the now stunned Cade, growling at the spirits. The panther, Anailleth, was a being of the Ancestral Plane, thus allowing him to damage the souls, if they moved against Cade.

[Kiki]

They continued to reach toward the pair, but Samina jumped out of her saddle back. "We come. You must all be patient," she said quietly, her normally blue eyes glowing golden. "We come."
"Hurry..." the spirits moaned. "We need help..." They began to fade away as it took a lot of energy to be so visible during th eday

[Zappy]

The panther continued to growl, clearly worried about Cade. Cade was behind Anailleth, a look of shock on his face, his normally happy blue eyes were dark with fear.

[Kiki]

"Relax," Samina said to the panther, her tail waving. "It seems you've been drawn into the quest as well. You two have to come with us. We travel to Piren, then to look for the Star Talisman."

[Zappy]

Cade sighed. The panther glared at Samina. It clearly possessed the ability to speak, but didn't like to. Cade spoke the words of dismissal, and the panther disappeared.

[Kiki]

"You have to join us, or the spirits will haunt you until your dying day," she said to Cade. "They have haunted us for the past ten years."

[Zappy]

Cade groaned loudly. It was clear he didn't want to go on a journey, especially not with Kasai.

[Kiki]

"Sorry, but that is the way the gods have set it down. Those called upon by the spirits of Piren are required to help them."

[Zappy]

"My small and insignificant body can't take this..." Cade said, sighing again.

[Kiki]

"Would you rather try to help them, or have them haunt you until your dying day?"
"Samina!" Kasai snaped adn the fox lowered her ears to her skull, then got back in her saddle bag. She clucked her tongue and Mori started trotting. She clearly could care less about him.

[Zappy]

Cade sucked in his gut, and followed her, a look of sadness on his face. He called again upon his panther, wanting it to walk beside him. When the panther appeared, the two of them followed after Kasai.

[Kiki]

Mori started to canter and Kasai's hair fluttered behind her. Again, her ears were revealed, betraying her mixed heritage, but she clearly wasn't thinking about it for once.

[Zappy]

Cade crawled up onto the panther, and the two moved up next to Morie and Kasai. Cade blinked, looking at Kasai's ears. "Half-elf." He stated simply, finding that to be the simplest way to describe her mixed heritage, however little Elf she had in her.

[Kiki]

Mori stopped dead in his tracks, ears flicking. Kasai dismounted and grabbed Cade by the collar, her eyes burning with rage. "You will never mention it again unless you want to die." She tossed him about ten feet away, then mounted Mori again. The gelding began to gallop at his top speed.

[Zappy]

Cade groaned as he slowly got to his feet, and brushed himself off. The panther came over, it's ears flicking in annoyance. "She is not very nice," Anailleth stated. The panther's voice was deep and rich. It easily carried over the roads, though Anailleth spoke quietly.

[Kiki]

Mori snorted as he kept galloping. The gelding clearly wasn't going to stop to allow them to catch up. Kasai could also care less if they caught up or not.

[Zappy]

Cade nodded, stroking the panther's muscled flank. He stretched a bit, then began walking down the road, ultimately not caring whether or not he caught up with Kasai and Mori.

[Kiki]

After a while, Kasai stopped Mori. The gelding was panting and she sighed. "You should not have run like that, then, but you would not listen." She patted him on the neck, then untacked him. She knew it was going to be a while until he was ready to be ridden again.

[Zappy]

Cade and Anailleth came up a few minutes later, Cade now riding Anailleth. The two were clearly still full of energy.

[Kiki]

Samina jumped out of her saddlebag and Mori walked off to graze a bit. Kasai sat on a rock that was leaning against a tree and watched the branches and leaves play in the sunlight.

[Zappy]

Cade slid off of Anailleth, and as soon as he did, the panther seemed to lose all the boundless energy it had had just before. Cade sighed, and dismissed Anailleth back to it's home to rest.

[Kiki]

A hawk fluttered down and Kasai extended her arm which had a hawk glove on it. The hawk chattered to Kasai for a few moments and the magess nodded. The bird gently nibbled her ear in an affectionate way, then fluttered off.

[Zappy]

Cade sat down in the grass, running his hand over the blades. He lay down after a few minutes, stretching out.

[Kiki]

"We must set off by dusk again," Kasai said over her shoulder to Mori and Samina. The pair nodded, Mori snorting. "I know you do not like to travel at night, but it is safest at this time."

[Zappy]

Cade shrugged a bit, assuming that they didn't care what he did. He yawned, continuing to play with the grass.

[Kiki]

A while before sunset, Kasai started cooking dinner. Samina sat as she waited for her dinner, her white tail flicking back and forth slowly. The aroma of cooking meat wafted around as Kasai cooked and Samina rested her head on Kasai's lap.

[Zappy]

Cade blinked when he smelled the food, and stood up, then walked over to Kasai and Samina. He said nothing, waiting for one of them to talk to him.

[Kiki]

"What do you want?" Kasai said, her tone harsh as usual. She didn't even bother o look up at him as she continued to cook.

[Zappy]

"Food, obviously," his tone was cheery, and he was smiling broadly, per usual.
