The innkeeper told her the price, "I don't mind about your fox." Cade slid out of his chair, and walked to the counter, climbing up on top of it.

She dug the gold out of her pocket, then gave him the coins. It was clear she had quite a bit of gold on her, more than a normal traveler would have. She nodded in thanks, then went up to her room. Her hair moved again, revealing one of her ears, but she was up the stairwell before anyone could see.

The innkeeper looked at Cade who shrugged his shoulders, clearly at as big a lost as the innkeeper as to who Kasai was.

The fox remained downstairs, sniffing and examining everything. Ochei, you should be meeting us soon, right? she thought as she sniffed the fireplace, then stretched out in front of it.

Cade jumped down after accepting a key from the innkeeper. He walked over to the fox. "Who are you?" He asked, his customary smile on his face.

She stood up, her tail waving slightly. "Samina, familiar to the Mystic Rose." She dipped her head. "And who are you?" She looked at him, her head tilted in curiousity.

She shook her head. "I want to sleep in front of the fire tonight. There's no doubt Mystic also locked the door." She moved a little closer to the fire, chilled though it was getting to be summer.

He nodded, "Okay. Do you mind if I sit next to you?" He clearly did not care whether or not she would mind, and if she did not want him to sit next to her, then he would not.

"Rest. All of us will need it time morning comes." She curled up again, laying her fluffy tail over her nose. She clearly wasn't going to give anymore info than what she had said.

He sighed, "Fine then." He stood up, shouldering his pack. He walked off, his hair bouncing behind him. He could be heard fumbling with the key to his door, then shutting it behind him.

The next morning, Kasai rose at dawn as she usually did, then headed downstairs, carrying her tack. She clearly planned to leave as soon as possible.

She tossed the key on the counter and walked to Samina. The fox stretched and yawned, her coat fluffing out as she did so. Kasai walked out the door, Samina opening for it.

Kasai glanced over her shoulder, glaring at Cade. She quickened her pace, clearly not wanting to be anywhere near him or anybody else. She walked into the stable and Mori lifted his head.

Kasai sat the tack outside of Mori's stall, glaring at him. Her eyes held nothing but contempt and malice toward the halfling. "What is it you want, bug?" Her voice was icy cold as she continued to glare at him. Her bow was once again slung over her shoulder with the quiver. When she folded her arms, her cloak fluttered out, revealing a multitude of weapons, mostly daggers.

"Leave before I am forced to kill you." She picked up the tack and walked into the stall, begining to tack Mori. Her words did hold a clear threat behind them, one she wouldn't hesitate to follow through with.

She mounted Mori and clucked her tongue. The gelding started walking, right past Cade, but stopped, his ears flipping and sidestepping. "What is it, boy?" she asked quietly, then her eyes went wide. "Go, boy!" The gelding refused to move, however.
