Around sunset, Toax stopped walking. "IT would be best to set up camp for the night," he muttered as he snapped. A wide area of snow cleared and he snapped to set up the tent and start a fire.

Huinua nodded. "Traveling at night can be dangerous. If we need a nightwatch, I'll volunteer."

Ameesh was already curled up, asleep. "Guess she's still tired from that avalanche ordeal," Alexis said.

He nodded. "I remember one time I was climbing a mountain and there was an avalanche. I was stuck under the snow for three weeks. Even with my proficiency in Fire magic, it took me that long to dig myself out."

He soon finished cooking, then gave everyone their meals, but didn't take any himself. He walked a ways off and sat in the snow, gazing up at the moon and stars.

Alexis ate hers quietly, then went to sleep, rather tired from the journey that day.
Later in the night, Ameesh woke up and shook her head. She walked over to Huinua and rubbed her head against his side. "What are you doing up?" he asked quietly.
"I couldn't sleep. Mind if I keep you company?"
"I guess it couldn't hurt."

Saik was still awake, staring up at the stars. Toax had gone to bed a few hours earlier.

Ameesh climbed up in Huinua's lap and rested her head against his belly. It wasn't long before she fell asleep again. Huinua smiled and gently scratched her ears. "I know what's going on," he said quietly to Saik. "It's pretty obvious. She only credits me with saving her life, even after I explained that Toax started the fire, and now, she's got a crush on me."

Saik nodded. "I remember when Shea first developed a crush on me. She was such a ditz back then." He chuckled.

He nodded. "Once we'd saved her, I did think she was rather cute. I might even say beautiful." He smiled and gave her a quick kiss on the head. "Back in my time, there was an Eevee who was in love with me and tried to steal me from Alexis' mother, but in the end, I decided on Alexis' mom."

Huinua looked at Ameesh as she slept. She wrapped a paw around his arm loosely. "I'll give love with her a chance. She strikes me as the kind of girl who'd remain faithful, but I'm not going to go all the way with her until I know for sure. I might let her kiss me if she wants to, though."
