Before you read this, if the only comments you can think of are against Christianity or are calling them stupid for standing up for their faith, shut up and get off this thread right now. You can insult my writing all you want, but don't insult my faith.
These are a compilation of different stories of Christians who have been persecuted for their faith and, in the midst of that, stood strong and lived, even though they were in position that they should have died. All of them were ready to die for their faith.
My name is Johannas. My family and I are all Christians living in a Communist community. Many times, the communist soldiers would come in and take over our land, making us their property. They would do nearly anything to kill off the Christians, though they did give us a chance to convert before they did. My entire village was being burned to the ground. I was one of the few who was lucky enough to escape into the jungle, but I didn't get out unseen. The Communist soldiers chased me and caught me. They began cutting me all over with their large knives, then they covered my bloody body with banana leaves. They tried to burn the leaves, but they would not light. The soldiers then removed the leaves and continued to cut me.
(Those of you who are squeemish, do not read any further)
They nearly succeeded in cutting my head off and left me for dead. I was ready to die. I told the Lord, "I'm ready." Yet strangely, I felt an incredible energy in me. I rose up and continued on through the jungle. At the time, it seemed like a real bother and a bad thing, but on those banana leaves were maggots. Those maggots inhabited the areas I was cut and ate away all the infection. It was miserable, but because of them, I am alive today. I will never be rid of these scars, but no matter how many more scars I get, I will never turn my back on the Lord.
Depending on how well this goes over, I may or may not write from the perspective of some others in similar situations.
