Kina, the Delcatty, laid on a pillow, curled up and asleep. Jerana, the Jolteon, stretched and perked her ears up when she saw Mithos and Ashe.

Nia nodded. "So, battle. First challenger in quite a while. Rules here: one Pokemon round. Coaching is allowed because that's the way I do mine. No over the top, really unnatural powers. A little magic is okay, but that can't be the bulk of your abilities. I make my companions rely on their natural Pokemon attacks most of the time which is why."

"Increased strength and such from training are obviously fine, but over the top things like flashy magic and such don't fly here. I didn't even let Kiki get away with it the time we did a practice battle."

Nia nodded. "Let me go," Jerana said. "This'll probably be my last battle, Nia. I'm nearing fifty now."
"I know, old friend," Nia said, patting her companion's head. "I just hope I can make it worthwhile." She sighed.
Jerana nuzzled Nia. "That extra training must have paid off."

"Ah, keep yer pelt on," Jerana said. "I might not be quick and strong as I used to be, but I still got plenty of fight left in me.' She eyed Ashe. "I want my last battle to be one I'll feel good about even if I lose. Or would your honor be in jepordy if you beat someone old like me?"
"I wouldn't deny Jerana this," Nia said. "She's old, but we've trained six hours a day or more for the past several years. She's never backed down from a challenge. If you did, you'd be denying her honor."

Nia nodded and took her place, then patted her thigh while tapping her foot. Jerana took off, using Double Team and Quick Attack. The copies were almost like Shadow Clones, but it had just come from a lot practice. All of the copies fired off Shadow Ball.

Ashe surrounded herself with a shield of aura. "You know a Lucario can manipulate aura. Well, Ashe can do more than just make an Aura Sphere."

Nia tapped her nose and Jerana sprang to her feet, then fired off a flurry of Swift followed by Thunder.

Ashe put her arms up, reducing the damage, but still being hurt a bit by the Thunder. "Pretty good. But let's see how you do against this." Ashe slammed her fist into the floor, using an Earthquake so powerful, the earth began to shift and the terrain began to change. "Now it gets interesting."
