Here's a brief run-down of some Fairy terms that'll be used or have been used. I'll add more as I remember more, but this is a good start for now
-----
Unteshmei [Nine Elements]: All Fairy magic is rooted in the Nine Elements that they believe in.
-Light: Ruled by Shiro/Wotu. One of the most common Elements in use by Fairies. Nearly all Fairies use White magic, a weaker version of Light magic. If Light or White is used, Darkness or Black cannot be used. Queen Akina uses Pure Light. Second hardest of all Elements to use. Can be used anywhere there is light. Best if used for healing.
-Darkness: Ruled by Kuro/Wanash. Least common Element in use by Fairies. Of the Fairies that use it, they use Black, a weaker form of Darkness. If Darkness or Black used, Light or White cannot be used. Akuryou uses Pure Darkness. The hardest of all Elements to use and control. Jinxes and curses easiest to use.
-Sun: Ruled by Karu/Nala. Less common than Star or Moon, but somewhat more powerful than Star or Moon. Strongest during the summer and weakest during winter because of amount of sunlight avalible for use. Fifth hardest Element to use. Can be used on nights when moon is shining, but power is only a quarter as powerful as during day. Can be used for shielding easiest.
-Star: Ruled by Hoshi/Caera. Less common in use than Moon, but more common than Sun. Able to be used during the day, but is only as 1/4th as at night. Weakest during the winter and strongest during the summer because more summer nights are clearer than winter nights. Sixth hardest Element to use. Best if used offensively.
-Moon: Ruled by Tsuki/Nashua. The most common Element in use by Fairies of Sun, Moon and Star. Able to be used during day, but power is cut in half or 1/4 if moon is visible during day or not. Is not more powerful during one season or another, but is most powerful at the full moon and waxing crescent phases. Seventh hardest Element to use. Strongest for defense, but offense is fairly strong as well.
-Fire: Ruled by Faia/Fila. One of the most common Basic Four in use for daily life. Able to be used any time of day, though slightly stronger around noon because that's the hottest time of day. Also strongest during the summer. Fourth hardest Element to use. Strongest in offense and also good for showing-off.
-Earth: Ruled by Terra/Ina. Least common of the Basic Four in use for daily life. Able to be used any time of day and doesn't become weakened or strengthened by seasons though is less powerful when the ground is wet. Eighth hardest Element to use. Strongest in defense, though can be used for offense, but not recommended
-Wind: Rule by Kaze/Iwu. Not that common in use of daily life. Able to be used any time of the day and not effected by seasons, though in winter it can be used to create a nastily cold breeze. Third hardest Element to use. Best if used for offense, though denfense is possible.
-Water: Ruled by Ame/Shena. Most common Element of the Basic Four used in daily life. Can be used any time of day and not really effected by seasons, though in winter it creates snow and all others it creates rain. Also effected by phases of the moon with tides and all. Easiest Element to use. Defense and offense fairly equal.
Sub Elements: Some Elements can be combined or divided into other Elements.
-Ice: Sub Element of Water. Learning begins at Level Two because basic knowledge of Water magic is needed. Simple Sub Element to use and master, but extremely powerful and useful in a tight spot. Most useful Sub Element to know and use because water particles in air can be frozen into Ice and used. Weakest in summer and strongest in winter. Very useful for both offense and defense.
-Lightning: Sub Element comprised of Light, Wind, Fire and Ice. Learning begins at Level Three because amount of knowledge and magic required to use it. Not effected much by seasons though slightly stronger in summer because less heat is required if heat lightning wants to be used. Best in offense.
Pure [Light, Darkness, Sun, Moon, Star, Fire, Wind, Water or Earth]: Term for if a Fairy draws his/her magic 110% from the Goddess that rules that Element
Spell Levels: Fairy spells are ranked by by Levels that range from One to Seven. Most Fairies can only use up to Level Three or Four.
-Level One: most basic Elemental Spells; Fire, Wind, Water, Earth primarily learned; magnet training started to learn basic magic control; Brenon starts to get mastered
-Level Two: more complex Elemental spells learned; Sun, Moon or Star learned; basic teleportation startd; Ice magic introduced
-Level Three: more complex teleportation learned. White or Black introduced. Lightning can be learned; Forbidden begin here; appearance-altering spells taught
-Level Four: Fire Ice [or Ice Fire; last resort spell] taught; complex spells that combine Elements begin here; more than half of spells Forbidden; counter jinxes/curses can be learned; Meroni can be learned; appearance-altering spells can be learned
-Level Five: all spells Forbidden; jinxes and curses common; weather control spells here; weather control spells begin here
-Level Six: all spells Forbidden; Thousand Deaths here
-Level Seven: all spells Forbidden; Thousand Deaths Reversal here; Ezara Ikasa here; spells used rarely
The Forbidden: comprised of most Level Four spells and above with a couple of Level Three. Called "The Forbidden" because their use is banned by Fairy Law because of the amount of magic needed to cast them surpasses the abilities of most Fairies. Only the Goddesses, Queen Akina, Greza and a select few Fairies can use them.
Ukati: a set rules and guidelines each Fairy puts up for him/herself. Apart from the ________, the book of Fairy Laws, it is the important thing that guides a Fairy through their lifetime and is constantly changing and developing. Most Ukati consist of at least a fifty individual ______.
Uzure Ukati: complex Ukati able to be used by younger people that have seen and experienced things that are beyond their years.
magnet training: training that uses magic to teaches magic control. Started at about age three in hand with the Brenon. Simple but hard to do. Mind must be completely blank when doing it at first. Magic must be used to make magnets spin above hand. Starts with magnets just spinning, then goes to magnets rotating opposite ways while hitting each other. After trainee is skilled enough, magnets can be used to create music of any genre.
Brenon: Ability all Fairies have to sense another's magic level. Also allows them to see through another's eyes if allowed and can see magic aura. Elements more visible in natural state when using Brenon. Normal things are still able to be sen, but where there is little to no energy, there seems to be a void of black. Eletrical or unnatural energy isn't able to be picked up on by the Brenon. Also allows Fairies to find their way if they're in complete blackness or if they're blind. Though a natural ability, the Brenon must be learned to be used to its fullest extent. Training begins hand-in-hand with magnet training. Requires complete focus when being masted. After mastery, can be used any time used any time unless a Gezoni is used. One of the most precious things to a Fairy's ability to control magic. If lost, magic control becomes less and lessens over life though very gradually.
Gezoni: Comprised of one Level Three, one Level Four and one Level Five spells that are Forbidden. Forbidden because using them on somebody results in temporary or permanent loss of ability to use Brenon. Only police and army can learn these as means of warfare tactic or crowd control. If Level Three is used, ability to use Brenon is only temporary [three hours to two days]. If Level Four is used, ability to use Brenon streched longer [two days to five months depending on ability of caster]. If Level Five is used, ability to use Brenon is completely lost.
Meroni: Set of complex Forbidden Level Four medical spells. Only those going into medicine can learn these. Can be used to nearly completely heal somebody unless ailment involves their sense or ability to use magic. Can also be usd to kill somebody in less than five minutes to several weeks or months depending on ability or personality of the user.
Mekoni: Set of Level Four, Five ans Six spells that are legendary for pyschological toture and pysical pain. Allows the user to enter the victim's dreams and psychologically torture the victim until their waking moment. Effects often haunt the victim for the rest of their life if user is strong enough. In addition to psychological torture [if the user is strong enough], victim can be pysically hurt. Pysical abuse ranges rom paper to rape to death. A very effective tool for war. Level Four Merori falls under this.
Merori: Complex Level Three sleeping spell that uses illusion to send victim into slumber. Is carried over into Level Four that is Forbidden because if user is skilled enough, victim can be sent into nightmares that will haunt them forever.
Metero: Level Three spell that allows one to remember where important objects are placed. Only to be used as last resort for finding important objects. There is an opposite spell that allows the user to crack into another's mind to find out where important objects are. Also a general term for all memory spells.
Thousand Deaths: Most feared and well-known of all spells. Falls under Level Six and highly Forbidden because victim suffers a thousand literal deaths. If cast cast a second time within five seconds of the first cast, victim wil suffer two thousand deaths. If repeated, victim will suffer deaths the number of times the spell was cast times a thousand
Thousand Deaths Reversal: One of the most powerful spells in Unteshmei. Level Seven spell that reverses the Thousan Deaths. When victim is brought back, they are delerious for the rest of their lives unless a Level Five or higher Metero is used.
Ezara Ikasa: One of the few Level Seven spells and the strongest in Unteshmei. It copies the effects of a spell on one and transfers it to another. Highly Forbidden because if used, user will most likely die. Has never been attempted in recorded Fairy history. Requires a long, complicated incantation.
