Meeting

[Kiki]

Akunza came into the forest, Akel'tri following.

[Blade]

Night came up a few paces behind them. "So, where's this Kiki?"

[Kiki]

"Just a sec," Akunza said. She closed her eyes adn the tips of her tails began to glow faintly. This happened for several moments, then Kiki appeared.
"Eh?" Kiki asked.

[Blade]

"Whoa." Night said. "interesting..." he began typing on his PDA some more. When he'd finished, he looked at Kiki. "And i'm guessing you'd be Kiki, right?"

[Kiki]

"Yeah," Kiki said. "And you are..."

[Blade]

"Night. I'm a Hunter from somewhere around here. I can't tell because my PDA, this mechine here," he tapped the top of the PDA's screen, "Can't get signal. The signal is sent from the major cities; Kiera, Aubrey, or Lamia."

[Kiki]

"Dunno any of those, but... Let me see." Kiki grabbed the PDA and began tapping the screen. She continued to do so for about ten minutes, then handed it back. "There you go. I'm the Co-President of Silph Co, the leader of tech in this part of the D, so I know a thing or two. It should work now."

[Blade]

"Wait, what? what's a D?" Night looked confused. "And this map is off, it's nothing like the map at home..."

[Kiki]

"D stands for dimension," Kiki said, then tapped the PDA screen. "That map is the surrounding area. You're a long way from home probably, buddy, but I still managed to tap the connection you needed. I also tapped the wireless connections for around here, so you can get access to large amounts of info."

[Blade]

(Cool, so i'll do that. Jultun needs a thread anyway.)

"Oh." Night looked more disappointed than afraid. "so these creatures," he waved at Akunza, "pokemon, are not the same as the ones we have at home. I guess there really is no way to peacefully negotiate between the two." He got a determined look, "but i'll do my best. The creatures which have been attacking our kind will not be allowed to expand more! But while i'm here, i guess i should remove my rings, huh?" He took a glowing crystal out of his pocket, touching it to a ring and sliding the ring off. "The rings fuse with your fingers, and only the crystal's energy can reverse the process."

[Kiki]

Kiki nodded, not really understanding. "But yeah. Pokemon are unlike most creatures," she said. "They're actually pretty close to humans. All have 23 pairs of chromosomes, so all are compatable with humans. You'd think otherwise because of their wide ranging abilities and appearances."
Ombreon, in her human form, came walking up. "What's this?" she asked, walking up to Kiki. She leaned on Kiki's shoulder. "New arrival?"
"Yep," Kiki said. "This is Ombroen. She's a Pokemon with the ability to transform into a human."

[Blade]

"Interesting." night said, although truthfully, he wasn't as interested anymore. I'd do anything to bring peace back, but it seems these creatures are not the key. As he thought this, he nodded at Ombreon. "I don't think you understand the situation there." He sat down, opening the PDA's encyclopedia. "These creatures, similar to pokemon, but a lot more vicious. They've appeared out of nowhere, and started attacking us. The only weapon which seems to be effective is the rings." he took a breath, "Many, many types of creatures have been found. They're vile, pesky, and bad-tempered, and those are just the cute ones. The Hunters track down and destroy these creatures before they can do harm."
A voice sounded from behind them. "Stay where you are, both of you. You're under intergalectic arrest as suspects of a rebel organization." He nodded at Kiki. "you're free to go, and so is Ombreon, i'll handle these two."

[Kiki]

"Woah!" Akel'tri said. "What the?"
"Jultun, they're causing no harm," Kiki said cooly. "Akel'tri here is under my watch. He's from a planet called Valacia I know all about since I created it. I hold responsibility for all Valacia natives and trouble they caust. I can tell Akel'tri's done no harm since he's clearly been here a few years."
"That's right!" Akel'tri said, frightened. "Ask the fox chick."
"I"ve been watching him," Akuzna said.
"As for him, I'm trying to understand his situation," Kiki said, nodding toward Night.

[Blade]

"Very well. I'll sit here and watch." Jultun sat on a fallen tree, "But only because you're an undisputed ally."
Night was shaken slightly by Jultun's sudden appearance, but then returned to his speech as the danger seemed to pass. "So I was fighting a creature we call Agana. I remember finishing it off, then passed out and woke up in a pitch black cave. Then I met Akel'tri when i got outside, and finally Akuzna showed up and led us here, where we met you and that guy." he pointed at Jultun.
"name's Jultun, i've been posted here by the Intergalectic Police to try to find and capture people from a rebel organization that's been giving us trouble the past couple years. So you can understand I don't like it when i meet people who arn't in the list of citizens." He gave Akel'tri a look.

[Kiki]

"I didn't know he was here which is why he wasn't in the database," Kiki said. "There's another Valacia native here who also isn't on the list. I can give you info on her. A crapload since I wrote about her a lot in my last life. But him... All I can tell so far is that he's half net'lon, half Elf.'
'Yeah, I don't remember much..." he said.
"Jultun, if you meet anybody not on the list that says they're from Valacia, automatically assume they're under my care," Kiki said. "Even if i don't know they're here, they still fall under my care. I am solely responsible for that planet. But if you so much as look at one of the Valacia natives wrong, I seriously will track you down and erase you from existence. I can do that with one thought."
"Writers. Very protective of their characters," Ombreon said. "You really don't want to piss a writer off when they have the power to change anything in this D with a single thought."
"Seirously," Kiki said. She turned back to Night. "Maybe if you explain a bit more to me about what's going on, I might be able to help. I've got two lifetimes of experience dealing with all sorts of creatures and I can pick up a lot of different languages quickly if they can speak."

[Blade]

"that's the thing, they seem to communicate with each other. But it's sounds and other things people can't copy." night looked iratated. "And i can't really explain more than that, because it's not known. These creatures, having just shown up, are completely mysterious. We've only reached the tip of the iceburg."

[Kiki]

"Nothing people are able to say, eh?" Kiki asked. She let out a shrill whinny like a Ponyta and a wild Pontya came running up. "Granted, while I was born with the ability to do that, I pick up things fast. I am the ruler of Raidia after all. It's an acquired skill." She patted the Ponyta's neck and scratched its nose. She whickered softly and the Ponyta walked off. "If I could just see some of these things, I might be able to pick up a few things. I'm also a Pokemon Breeder, Nurse and Professor."

[Blade]

Night just watched interestedly as the strange woman called a horse-like creature to her, then dismissed it. "Interesting, perhaps that would work." He said, then stood. "Well, i don't know how I got here. So even if I wanted to, i couldn't get back... which means we wouldn't be able to meet any of the creatures... Unless some warped as well, which could be bad!" He looked around, pausing.

[Kiki]

"Actually, I could make that happen, but make them unable to attack," Kiki said. "I have god-like abilities in this D though I rarely ever exercise them."

[Blade]

"I'm not sure. These creatures, they're dangerous beyond dangerous. They're vile, pesky, and often short-tempered. And that's just the cute ones! When you start meeting the stronger, bigger ones, things get messy." Night looked around, "Perhaps you could start with a cuter one. One of the first kinds we found, close to one city here, Kiera, which is my hometown. It's the best off, though, the weak ones are around there, but as you go north they get considerably tougher and more vicious." He opened a screen on the PDA, a small, black dog appearing. "Try that one, it's small and weak. Although, in packs, they can be a challenge even for me, depending on the size."

[Kiki]

"Watch." Kiki turned around and snapped her hand. The whole forest changed to look like the surface of the moon though they could still breathe. "Gravity is still pressing down on us at 9.8 meters per second when it's usually 1/6 of that on the moon." She snapped and everything went back to normal.
She looked at PDA screen. "So yeah. That'll be easy. Just need some info." She snatched the PDA and started looking at info on it, then handed it back. She focused and made two appear. "They're completely harmless. Two is easier to have than one because they can communicate with each other."

[Obivously, I know nothing about this, so you have to do the controlling.]

[Blade]

The two dog-like creatures looked around, obviously confused and alarmed by the sudden change of location. They started making short whines, looking around and cowering. They noticed Night, and seemed interested in his rings, for some odd reason. One let a short bark, which ended as the two trotted up to Night, their ears against their skulls.

"well, i guess they can be made to behave here, but it'd never work in our world." Night said, "I can recognise basic attitudes from my constant fighting with them, however i cannot understand everything. They're obviously in attack mode right now, since their ears are back." Night looked down at the two, who seemed to be getting used to the new surroundings. They started playing, one pushing the other over as they played. "Now, that's new. I've never seen them play, with people or with each other."

[Kiki]

"Hm," Kiki said. She sat down to observe the two. "Maybe there's something to do with the atmosphere of where you come from or something different here. I just made it so they can't attack. They have the instincts to do so, but they won't be able to spring or anything. Other than that, there should be nothing different about them."

[Blade]

"Or perhaps, being unable to attack has effected them so they feel more at peace with people?" Night suggested, "Why don't you try to lower the defences, and we'll see what happens. I have my rings on, if they do attack. One of my rings can create a temporary bond with one or more creatures, so i wouldn't have to kill them, and we could continue studying them."

[Kiki]

Kiki nodded and did so. "I can also defend myself with magic," she said. "So don't worry about me."

[Blade]

The dog-like creatures, noticing they were no longer bound, looked at Night, seeing how he would react. Once they were sure he wouldn't harm them while their back was turned, they continued playing.

"I see. Perhaps all the creatures are this way, they see us as a threat, and are afraid of us, so they attacked, and we mistook this as open warfare, starting an unnessary war." He finished, then said, "The ring i was talking about is called 'recruit'. they are extremely rare, and can only befriend a certain amount before the energy gets too low to control the creatures, and they all break free." night chuckled, "I know that limit too well, had it happen twice. Not a fun time to be attacked by many different creatures at once."

[Kiki]

Kiki nodded. "Yeah. It seems they're no different than normal animals," she said. "If they're frightened or feel threatened, they attack. It's the same with Pokemon. I've been attacked countless times by frightened Pokemon. But I remain calm and keep my voice even to show I mean no harm. They eventually come to understand that." She looked at the two creatures that were playing. "Body language also plays an important role. Granted, each species intreprets everything differently, but there are some universal things." She inched ntil she was close to them, then sat down, cross-legged with her hands folded in her lap, wondering how they would react. She looked at the ground and kept her mouth closed, knowing revealing her teeth might illict a reaction from them and be interpreted as a challenge. She also knew direct eye-contact might also be interpreted the same way.

[Blade]

The dog creatures shied away from her at first, looking over at her oddly, but finally curiosity overcame caution, and they crept slowly over. One of them began nosing her knee, while the other one climbed into her lap and sniffed at her face.

"amazing, contact without violence, i thought i'd never see something like this..." Night said, watching from a little ways away. "i don't think i should try until after I've removed my rings, they've grown used to considering us Hunters their enemies." He started removing the rings painstakingly, the amount of power the crystal generated barely enough to remove rings, and only one at a time.

[Kiki]

Kiki smiled and didn't move.

[Blade]

The dog creature nosing her knee licked her, then nuzzled her knee, while the other dog pulled it's muzzle back as her mouth moved, then tentatavely moved foward again, it's nose bumping Kiki's.

Night was removing his rings, and putting them in a group on a nearby stump. "Well, now, it looks like you startled it. I'm surprized it didn't attack, they're growing tamer, it seems." He paused, then having finished removing his rings slowly came over and sat down beside her, taking the same precautions, although his head was up and looking at Kiki. "i'd like to give you a PDA, as well, and make you an official..." He paused. he couldn't think of a name. "It seems you have the ability to tame these creatures, so we could call you something else... not Hunter, that's a name used for those who fight the creatures, but how about Tamer?"
