Dani Tsukino is fairly new to the city, but she's an expert diviner. Her main methods are astrology, the Tanzil (Valacia's Tarot), crystal ball and a bowl of water. She spent a brief period on Valacia to learn how to become a Star Listener, one who literally listens to the stars. She mostly uses the Tanzil as it's the easiest to read. All forms of her divination are subjective, but she's had a high rate of accuracy.

Sagi walked in. "Hey there. I hear you can tell the future."

Dani looked up. "Usually," she said, her thick Southern drawl apparent. "I'm fairly ac'urate, unlike most diviners 'round here."

"How much for 2 divinations?"

"Depends on the type. Ten for Tanzil which is like the Tarot, twenty for crystal ball and water scrying, thirty for astrology. Tanzil's easiest for me to read and least subjective."

"All right." He placed 20 dollars on the table. "2 Tanzil readings please. I have specific questions I'd like answers to, and one is extremely important."

She nodded. "Any specific spread?" She took out the deck of 24 cards and started shuffling them.

"I'm not sure what you mean by spread."

"Different spreads for different circumstances. Most are good for most situations, but the five card, or cross spread, is easiest to read."

"Let's go with that then. Ok. First question. I met this girl who I think I really like. We went to the moondream cafe. I'm just not sure how well it'll work out between us."

She put the cards in three piles. "Trust yer intuition and put five cards on the table in the shape of cross. It's easiest when it's your energy since it's yer question, not mine."

Sagi nodded and placed 5 cards on the table in a cross shape.

Dani flipped the center over. "Jewel of Dreams in the upright. A good card for the center. It does point to things working out." She flipped the left over. "Five of Lanterns inversed. Be glad it is. It means unwavering motivation and loyalty, but with a possibility of evil in the future." She furrowed her brow. "Odd, though. This is the place for past influences. Perhaps from you or her." She flipped over the right card. "Quester of Honor upright. Honor, harmony with others, new beginnings." She flipped the bottom one over. "Child of Dreams inversed. Hard choices, tough times." She went to flip the top over, but it twisted slightly before her hand reached it. "Princess of Gates skewed. Which means it's neither inverse or upright. It could go either way. If you hesitate with something, you could possibly lose it." She thought for a minute. "All together, things seem to want to work out between you, but something with her is holding back. If either you hesitates or such, things may fall apart. but it could go either way. The reasons are unknown to me."

"I think I might know a reason. It has to do with my second question." He showed her the book. "This book contains a number of spells. This girl I went to the moondream with was attacked by someone using Hachian magic. My spells were useless againt him, but as I felt my desire to protect her rise, a new spell appeared. A dark spell. Already, I feel that by using that spell, I may be slipping down the road of losing my soul. I need to know if I'm still going to be me."

She pointed to the Five of Lanterns. "That's the card for the past. I guess what you're the possibility of evil in the future. But it this card itself is dark and shadowy, perhaps also pointing to rough times in her past. The cards are more a reflector of the current situation more than tellers of the future."

Sagi nodded. "I hope I make the right move to win her heart. She's been around for 4000 years and I don't think I've even begun winning her trust yet."

She nodded. "That very well could be. Older people often find it harder to trust younger ones especially when they're in the thousands." Clearly, she was speaking from personal experience.

He nodded. "Do you know if there's a way for someone to harness the strongest dark magics without losing their soul?"

"My lineage is renowned for its Darkness magic. We're descended from Zerza, the most powerful goddess in the 3rd D Darkness-wise. She's had 75,000 years of experience. I can't offer help since I'm not a Darkness user myself, but there are many people I can refer you to."

She nodded and looked through a hologram of people who were in the city. "It looks like Daezer or Elry would be your best bets. Daezer's well over 47,000 so he has plenty of experience. But Elry also doubles in Shadow..."

"Daezer lives at Kiona's and Elry is at Roran's. Kiona's is a small ranch and Roran's is a castle. Huge castle by the look of it. But don't be surprised if they're out and about especially Daezer. He goes batshit insane if he has to stay in one building too long."

"Yo, cuz." A girl with long black hair and violet eyes walked in, wearing a black dress. Dani blinked. "I heard you were in town. Gotten any better at scrying?" "Fairly. I'm still inaccurate in that for part of it, but I've gotten better," Dani said, then blinked again. "Elry, Sagi. Sagi, Elry." "Yo, man," she said, leaning against the counter. "Sup?" "He needs you to teach him control of his Darkness.' 'I just got done with Grandma Zerza. I don't want to hit the books again." "He doesn't want it to consume his soul." Elry nodded at Dani's words. "I'm not the best teacher, but I'll try," Elry said.

"Trust me; you'd be able to tell. You'd feel like your insides were being torn apart," Elry said. "Then you'd become a killing machine. That's a state called the Darkness Biter where you just kill until you either run out of energy or manage to gain control again."

"I have a feeling it may be a gradual thing with these spells. Like each time I use one, I become more suseptible to losing my soul."
