Kirei smiled and let out her other packmates. Toki, the Mightyena, yawned and stretched. "Been too long since I've been outta that thing," he grunted.

He gently butted his alpha's arm with his head. "AH well."
"Guys, Sora's beta now," Kirei said.
"What?!" Mamoru growled. The Houndoom stood up and laid her ears flat.
"Mamoru! Show respect for your alpha's decision!" Fyre snapped. The Magnetric growled and sat down, continuing to glare at Sora. Kirei sighed.

Kirei walked over and smacked Mamoru. It wasn't like her to do that to one of her packmates or Pokemon in general, but she couldn't help it. The Magnetric looked shocked. "I've put up with your attitude long enough! You act angry toward everything and never take the feelings of others into consideration. That's why you're not the beta anymore. Sora is far gentler and more compassionate than you are. You're an omega now. You've shamed me." She narrowed her eyes and picked Serena up, then walked away. Mamoru sat there, his eyes wide.

"It was about five years ago. Before then, he was pretty happy-go-lucky, kick-back type. But I was playing with Sora, a Houndour at the time, near a river. I was still a kid at heart, being only eleven, and wasn't paying attention. It was winter and I slipped in. Mamoru stood there on the river bank, unable to do anything. It was Toki that saved me. Mamoru vowed to himself never to let anything like that happen to me again. Then I was captured by Team Emerald. They did things to him that he never talks about. I was just left in a cell, alone. But that made him so angry toward everything but me..." She sighed.

"You're not an awful trainer so don't say that!" Fyre walked over, her neck fur bristling. Kirei looked at her. "You made a mistake with Mamoru, yes a big one, but you can change it. You can make ammends. You could change him. He could go back to the way he used to be a bit if you tried." Kirei nodded and wiped her tear away.
