I noticed we don't have a place to chat about Custom Robo. It's seriously one of the best games I've played for Gamecube, and it's addicting, even after you beat the story mode. You and your friends can have a lot of fun playing this; the amount of parts to use and stages to duel on make for good replay value.
If you have a Gamecube/Wii, i highly recommend this game. And if you already have it, that's awesome. (I would bet there's a video or two on Youtube of Custom Robo, for those of you who don't have it yet. Warning: Custom Robo only takes a small amount of time to addict most people.)

I used to play custom Robo, but once I beat Rahu part 3 and all the tournaments, I quickly lost interest. the Rahu parts are pretty good, but the Rahu weapons are totally suckish

Yeah, really. Seriously, how is it so powerful when all it's weapons are complete garbage? Anyway, ever tried to complete the entire "A New Journey" using only 'Can' parts? There's a challenge for the best of them.

I never did those kinds of challenges. The Rahu body, legs, and pod were pretty good. The ultimate legs live up to their name.

Aw man. My friend, who first showed me the game, has golds in all but one area. I have mostly gold, a few silver and even fewer bronze, then in the z boss room I have no trophies. :sigh: that Oboro is tough, using the Wyrm gun.

I actually managed all golds. the trick is you can't use any illegal parts. Sure their powerful and fun, but they cut your score in half.

I know that, the problem for me is beating Oboro in the Z Boss room tourney. I have a gold everywhere else in the outside area, and mostly golds in the dome. I usually use a robo like Halberd (strike vanisher) a gun like dragon, Gatling, or afterburner, I rarely use pods or bombs, but have either Trio H or Dolphin G pod and Geo Trap bomb equipped, then I use long thrust legs to give the ability to move long distances while evading their fire. All of those parts I just listed are legal.

That Oboro, though, i lost so many times i finally got the option to reduce his health. Which is probably why i didn't get any trophy for that tourney... and probably why i don't want to try it again lol

The way to win that is to dominate all the other battles and get high scores, then go Rahu on Oboro.

... That makes no sense though, because my friend has done the calculations about using Rahu parts, and he said you couldn't get enough points total to get a gold.

If you get a high enough score on the other battles, then one bum score won't really hurt you that much.

You'd think that would work, but our battle styles are opposite, I can use parts my friend considers useless and even beat him with them. And there are also parts he uses that I consider useless.
