Kiki tacked a bulliten on the board in the lobby of the center, then sat down.
"My Arcanine, Aiko, has been very much brokenhearted for years over the death of her first. She has been looking and tried several times, but the others only broke her heart more. This is her last attempt at love. Prospectal mates will have to be caring, never leave her, kind and gentle. She's very delicate at this point and this will be her last attempt. Another Arcanine would be preferable, but any Fire Pokemon may do."

Mithos walked in, an Arcanine walking beside him. "All right, Kermu, you remember what we discussed?" The Arcanine nodded. "I have to be kind and I want to make sure that whoever I try to give my heart to is someone I'd want to be with for the rest of my life." "Good. Now, make me proud. Oh?" Mithos read the ad posted. "Seems Kiki's Arcanine, Aiko, is giving love one final try. She's had a very strong heart to keep going up until now."

Kiki looked up from a book. "Oh, hi, Mithos," she said. She looked at the Arcanine. "I see you have a new companion."

Mithos nodded. "One of Enya and Arch's boys. He wants to meet the girl of his dreams. He's very kind-hearted and he knows not to let a relationship go too far until he's sure he wants to be with the girl for the rest of his life. He's turned a few down because he didn't feel they were right."

"That's great," Kiki said. She snapped her book shut. "Aiko." The Arcanine walked out from behind a door.

"Make sure you treat her right," Mithos whispered to Kermu. I can sense it. Her spirit is nearly broken." Kermu nodded and walked over to Aiko and sat near her. "Hello," he said, smiling. He was always a cheerful one.

"Hello." Aiko feebly smiled. I hope this goes well, Kiki thought. If not, I don't know what's going to happen... Her eyes were glazed over with worry.

"I heard you've tried so many times to find the right guy. I don't understand how one person can keep going after so much."

"It was only about three times," Aiko sighed. "Hey, Kermu, come here a sec," Kiki said. "Something I wanna tell you."

"Ok," he said, getting up and walking over beside her. "What's up?"

Kiki lowered her voice to a whisper. "You already know she's on her last leg, but she's really on the point of a needle," she said. "It'd be wise if you'd not ask her about her past mates. She's depressed nearly 24/7, so you really gotta be careful with her."

"Oh. Ok," Kermu said. "I'll try to avoid it, but what do I do if she bring it up?"

"That..." Kiki tapped her chin. "Probably say something along the lines of 'You know they loved you, but look toward the future'. I've tried convincing her to look at the future, not the past, but she won't listen to me. Maybe she'll listen to you. I'm not sure, but you've got to try for her sake."

"I will," he said. He got up and walked back over to her. "Kermu's always been the first to help," Mithos said. "Sorry about that," Kermu said, sitting down near Aiko.

Kermu nodded, assuming that since she suggested it, it wouldn't bring back any bad memories. "You lead the way. I kinda haven't been able to get out much."

"So, how'd it go?" Kiki asked. "We want to give it a try," Aiko said. "That's great," Kiki said. She's definitely cheerier than earlier.

"That's very good," Mithos said, petting Kermu. "Could I go live with Kiki?" Kermu asked. "Personally, I don't see why not, but it's up to Kiki, Enya, and Arch."

"Please," Kiki said. "Aiko wouldn't be able to bear it. She was one of the first Pokemon I saved on my journey. She's been a loyal companion for many years. She's suffered heartbreak after heartbreak."
