He warped randomly, so tracking and ambushing would be out of the question.

Lein kept up with his aura, then when he warped in front of her, she unleashed an attack. "Aura Spear!" Spears of energy shot at Shadow from close range.
"She copied Shadow's move," Sonic said. "That's tight!"

(I think it'd be a cool idea if Lein and Shadow moved to opposite ends of the room, launched Aura Sphere and Chaos Sphere at each other, then Damini comes in and ends the fight by launching two Aura Spheres in both directions.)
Shadow moved, but was hit in the side by the attack. "Pretty good, for a fake." He said, leaping back.

"Let's see then." Shadow said, "This is a little move i learned back home. That move you call Aura Sphere, it's similar." He formed Chaos Sphere, then raised it so it would be easy to throw. "Although the final effect is different, as you'll soon see."

Shadow threw his as well. "We'll see."
Suddenly, Damini ran between the converging balls of energy, raised both hands, and launched a pair of Aura Spheres, which went on a collision course with the Chaos Sphere and Lein's Aura Sphere.

Lein ducked to cover Sonic, knowing the aura spheres would explode when they hit each other.

The spheres on both sides exploded with impact, filling the room with heavy smoke.

"Why don't you?" Shadow retorted, then dashed toward Lein. "I'll make you wish you had."
Damini looked iratated by Shadow's charge. As Shadow neared, he prepared to use Bone Rush, then brought the attack into Shadow, who was moving at full speed into it.

"He believes the battle is over, and you have proven yourselves identical in strength. Another reason, i suspect, is he just dislikes Shadow."

"Then I see no reason why he shouldn't dislike them. After all, they've caused him so much pain, and now he has the chance to revenge Maria's unnecessary death. If they dislike him for that, then they dislike justice. There's no helping that." Spike seemed to sympathise with Shadow.

"All I want is the fall of GUN for the murder of Maria, and for imprisioning me in a cryogenic chamber, way beneath an island prison, and behind countless security doors.
