Two figures walked along, hand in hand, against a biting wind that brought the temperature down to about -10, but it didn't seem to phase them. Their thick cloaks, which were deep purple, covered them for the most part and remained still on their heads.

[kratos]

Kaushal landed himself in the middle of the blizzard by accident. "Damn. Of all places to wind up."

[Kiki]

The two figures continued on, then the one on the left turned. The right nodded and they found Kaushal. "Do you know where we are?" the left asked, their voice feminine.
"We're a little lost," the right said, their voice more that of a man.

[kratos]

"I don't even know where I am," Kaushal said. "I was moving through my own dimension and got dumped here. Well, best we all get out of the cold."

[Kiki]

"Let's get some shelter until this storm passes," the girl said. She clapped her hands together and put them on the snow, then an igloo sprung up. The girl crawled in.
"You can come to if you want," the boy said, then went inside.

[kratos]

"What in the world is this?" Kaushal said, heading inside. "How'd you do that?"

[Kiki]

The girl pulled back her hood, revealing black hair and hazel eyes. The boy pulled his hood back, looking much like the girl. They were unmistakeably twins. "Just some alchemy," the girl said. She turned her attention to the firewood she had transmutated and set it on fire. "It's not so hard once you learn it."
"But the way we do it... We had to pay a price for it," the boy said.

[kratos]

"I see," Kaushal said. "I'll be back in a moment." He went outside, then disappeared into his own dimension. Time passed and he returned with some food to cook over the fire. "Did you miss me?" he said, going back inside with the food.

[Kiki]

"Ah thank you," the girl said. The boy was poking boredly at the fire. The girl had removed her cloak, revealing she was wearing a light blue shirt with sleeves that only went to her elbows and black pants. The boy hadn't taken off his cloak, but he was poking at the fire with a stick and his sleeve that was visible was black.

[kratos]

I probably shouldn't tell them what I am. Or how I got that.

[Kiki]

The girl smiled and started cooking the food and humming. "I'm Inari and this is my twin brother, Matsu," she said with a smile.

[kratos]

"My name's Kaushal," the Al Bhed told them. "I've always been a whiz with machines."

[Kiki]

Inari nodded. "And we've always been whizzes with alchemy," she said with a smile. "We travel a lot and somehow ended up stuck out here in this blizzard. We really have no idea where we are. Our ship got caught in a hurricane. We were the only people to survive." Inari sighed and Matsu continued to poke at the fire.
"At least we're still alive or Roy would've had a lot of paperwork to do," Matsu said with a chuckle and Inari also chuckled.
"Yeah."

[kratos]

"Man I don't really know about any of that," Kaushal said. "Let's just say I've always lived in my own little world."

[Kiki]

"S'all right," Inari said. "Not everybody's familiar with alchemy."
"But we've got to be or else we'd be in an akward position," Matsu said and Inari nodded.

[kratos]

"Whatever," Kaushal said, not really sure what all was going on.

[Kiki]

"Sorry. I forgot you weren't familiar with alchemy," Inari said. "We have a tendancy to get off track like that.
"We're what you would call national or state alchemists," Matsu explained. "It means we're the best of the alchemists in our country, Amestris. We're one of the few sets of twin nationals. We're known as the Ice and Crystal Alchemists. I'm best with the ice stuff and Inari's better with crystals stuff, but we can really do anything alchemy related." All the time, Matsu's eyes never strayed from the fire.

[kratos]

"I see," Kaushal said. He reached into a 'backpack' and pulled out a broken laser pistol. "So, would you be able to fix something like this?"

[Kiki]

The twins glanced at each other. "I suppose," Matsu said. "I'm the one that's better at fixing stuff like this. I've never seen anything like it before, but I should be able to."

[kratos]

"I just want to see if you can," Kaushal said. "I can do it easily."

[Kiki]

"Let me see," Matsu said as he took the laser pistol and studied it for a few minutes. He then placed it on the ground and clapped his hands together, then placed them on the pistol. "This was my first time fixing a gun, so it might not work. I'm more used to destroying them." He shivered. "Man. I'm freezing."
"I knew we should've gotten your automail updated," Inari muttered as worry glazed over her eyes.
"Don't worry, sis. It's fine for now," Matsu said to reassure her.
"We should've gotten it updated when we were in Rush Valley," Inari said with a sigh. "You know we have..."
"I know we have connections, but still. I'll be fine. Plus, I know you must be freezing too."
"You know I got my arm updated when we last went to Rush Valley," Inari said. "I'm always the prepared one and you're always the one to say everything's fine." Matsu chuckled.
"True dat," he said. "I guess I was thinking we wouldn't encounter tundra or such. I thought wrong."
"Right," Inari said. She tugged the purple cloak tighter around her shoulders. "Oh right. This is done. Some help, Matsu." He nodded and they high fived, then Inari put her hand on the ground. Three crystal plates sprung up from the snow and Inari put the food on it.

[kratos]

"Here, let me help," Kaushal said. He took their hands and pulled them into his own dimension.

[Kiki]

"W-what the heck?!" Inari said, frightened.

[kratos]

"When I said I live in my own little world, I meant it quite literally," Kaushal said. "This place isn't affected by anything I don't bring in. Stay close to me. If you get lost in here, I can't guarentee I can find you."

[Kiki]

"Will do," Inari said and Matsu nodded

[kratos]

Kaushal raised his hand and a path of broken machina began to form. "I normally float through here using 0 gravity, but I thought you might be more comfortable with something to put your feet on." He waved his hand again and there was instantly gravity holding them to the path. "This gravity is about equal to that of the moon, so you can still jump far."

[Kiki]

Inari nodded and walked, a little freaked out and held onto Matsu's arm.

[kratos]

"Don't worry too much," Kaushal said. "Everything in this dimension is under my control. I won't abandon you. I'm just getting us to some place warm."

[Kiki]

Inari still wasn't convinced. "It's okay," Matsu said with a smile.

[kratos]

They reached the end of the path Kaushal had made. "No problem," he said, bring up more. "I'm a god of this dimension."
